*Dogs must be kept on leads and must not drink from or swim in the water due to blue-green algae* The above risk of blue-green algae poisoning was only signposted part way round, not near the main sign, oddly. I parked at the small car park beside Homebase with no trouble - entrance to the left of the old St John Ambulance/Serena Memorial building. I saw a collection of terrapins! Plus lots of ducks, Canada geese (they hissed at my dog, despite him not really getting close to them). Plenty of moorhens and even a couple of Egyptian geese. Lots of people fishing here. After years of living in the area and being a stones throw from here on many occasions, I'd never visited. To manage expectations you must remember that this is very close to the centre of Dartford, so you are surrounded by industrial estates, some houses, and right beside Homebase, so it is difficult to really feel lost in nature, but it is a nice walk all the same, and handy if you live nearby and don't want to travel further out. I walked this very gently so spent about an hour going round stopping to look at the geese etc, but you'd be able to get round the lake in half an hour. There appeared to be a pathway down the centre of it which I didn't walk along, so you could even turn it into a figure of 8 walk maybe, with a bit of overlap. It connects to Dartford Park via the underpass, so could easily extend your walk partway round, but again I didn't take that route. Overall, worth a visit for a short walk if you haven't got far to travel to get here.

Excellent view, peaceful and great place for walk, jogging, fishing and reading. All awesome very old tunnel also located here with beautiful sounds of water from Darent River.

How can you jusitify £12 for a lake thats not maintained, bushes are all in the way for fishing, the lake is absolutely filthy on one side. Everytime ive been ive seen a dead fish floating down to the dirty end. The old guy who handed me my ticket was very rude. The lake is incredibly overfed and the fish never seem to want to bite no matter on which method or bait. Will not be...

Nice parkland with lots to explore ... So scenic & nice place for some Sunset photos. 🌄

Lately due to the rains or winter weather, the path into the lake is kind of muddy..... Its very nice that I could see some of the path are fill with pebble making the path easy and safe to walk on it! Great job.

Hope that the big trees/ shrubs are here to stay as a resting place for the wild...
