Review: A Disappointing Dining Experience for a Family Celebration I had high hopes for Siam Radhuny in Dartford, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of disappointing. We were a party of seven celebrating a special family birthday and had booked well in advance, receiving confirmation of our reservation online. However, when we arrived, it became clear that our booking had been entirely overlooked. Despite showing the confirmed reservation on email at the door, we were left waiting for a table to become available and cleaned. This was not the start we had envisioned for our celebration. The issues didn’t end there. Once seated, our starters arrived at different times, with some members of our party finishing their plates long before the last person was served. Even more frustrating, there was over an hours wait between finishing our starters and the main course arriving, leaving us wondering if we had been forgotten. We had to ask several times being told that our mains were on their way. When the main courses finally arrived, two of the side dishes were cold - not just lukewarm, but cold to the touch - and had to be sent back to the kitchen. My mother’s tofu dish seemed to be overcooked, making it hard and chewy, not the soft texture one would expect from tofu. Additionally, the service throughout the meal was poor. The waiters were inattentive, rarely checking in on us, and we struggled to get their attention for additional drinks. Some of the cutlery was also dirty, which we asked to be replaced, only to have to remind the waitress to bring replacements. Once we finished our mains, the neglect continued. There was no attention to our table, and we had to actively seek out someone to ask for the bill as we had decided not to wait further for deserts or coffees. When we raised our concerns with the manager, his only excuse was that the restaurant was busy. He had no empathy to the situation or resolution, even with his "30 years experience in the business???". It took prompting from us to even get an apology from the manager, and there was no offer of compensation or even a round of complimentary drinks to make up for the poor experience. We even had to ask for the service charge to be removed from the bill - a service charge that certainly wasn’t earned. Overall, what should have been a memorable birthday celebration was tainted by subpar service, long waits, and poorly executed dishes. It’s hard to imagine returning after such a frustrating experience. We expected far more, especially given the occasion. A restaurant’s success hinges on more than just food - it’s about the experience, the service, and this one failed on every level. I didn't want to give them even 1 star..... To add, this restaurant seems to focus on its take-away customers, as take-away orders seemed to leaving the kitchen faster that dine in customers..... what a great business model!

My partner and I attended Royal Siam Thai for a meal on Saturday 17th February and ordered Lobster from the menu. After eating a small part of the lobster we broke into the claws, expecting to see the succulent, tender meat that is expected. On this occasion, when opening the claw we were confronted by Lobster meat which was not only sparse, but also grey-coloured and gritty to the touch and taste. We were shocked and spoke to the manager. When we told and showed him that the lobster claw was inedible and not fresh, he proceeded to say that it was part of the cooking process and that he would offer a token £10 off the cost of the dish (the menu price was £34 and we also ordered several other dishes) but he couldn't offer any more because he had to think of the restaurant's profits (!) He also seemed to suggest that as we had eaten part of the lobster it must have been fine. The reality is we had only eaten the suspiciously heavily dressed part. The manager/waiter also couldn't clear the plate fast enough after our complaint was made, but we did manage to take one photo (attached). Let me tell you I have eaten Lobster before and it has never looked or tasted the way described above. It was rancid. We were extremely lucky to have not been ill. To add insult to injury the manager did not handle our complaint with any great care or consideration. Although we have of course paid for our meal and enjoyed what we ate up until the unfortunate incident described above, we do not feel that we should have had to pay at all for the substandard Lobster and handling of our complaint and we will not return to this establishment because of the very nasty taste the incident has continued to leave in our mouths. After fuming about the experience we initially tried to call the restaurant, only to be told the manager was unavailable and would call us back. He never did, so I emailed the restaurant, and was again met with a cacophony of silence. I again called the restaurant and finally spoke to the manager. He proceeded to explain that the rotten lobster was a problem with their suppliers and that they had now changed suppliers and the next time we visited we would see the difference. When I said that that was not my problem, and that we shouldn't have had to pay for the restaurant's supplier failings, he again tried to make me feel like I was the one at fault and they "had to think about our profits." Not once did this manager apologise for our poor experience and not once did he offer to rectify our poor experience with a complimentary meal or other recompense. We won't be returning to this restaurant, and neither should you if you value your health and customer experience.

Visited this restaurant pre theatre on a Saturday. The staff were very helpful and were able to reserve a table in advance. The venue is nicely decorated, and tables were well spaced with nice room. The menus was easy and we ended up with a mixed sharing starter, chicken green curry with Jasmine rice and a pad Thai. The curry and pad Thai was very nice. The rice was ok but came a bit clumpy and tasted like normal boiled rice. In general it was a pleasant experience, nothing out of the ordinary. One negative was the men's toilet, it was dated and not in the best order, definitely requires refurb. If you're local or visiting the area, this is a good choice for food and great service staff.

I give two stars… not only I’ve been here before and it’s been absolutely grand! But came here last night with the family for my birthday meal! I booked online via their booking on their website got a confirmation email saying tables all booked at the start of the month We arrived yesterday night at 7pm (time I booked) and my reservation wasn’t on the list I said I booked online showed the girl my confirmation booking. She then said wait a minute and got another staff member She then came back and said we’re just getting the table ready for you.. so not only our reservation ‘wasn’t there’ the table wasn’t even ready.

The only lovely waitress who ordered our drinks then came back and ordered our starters and mains perfectly

Waited around 30 mins for our starters okay not bad BUT some starters came and we was waiting 10-15 mins for the rest of the starters.

Finished our starters plates were cleared and we ordered more drinks we was waiting around further 20 mins for our second round of drinks to come even though we was right next to the bar.

We then waited 40-45 mins nearly a hour for our food it was coming up to just gone 9pm and mains still haven’t arrived yet. We asked two members of staff that we haven’t received our mains yet they went to the kitchen and said ‘4 - 6 mins’ okay…. 10 mins went we asked again where’s our mains ‘10 mins’ I laughed…. Mains came…. 2 dishes went back they were COLD been sitting on the side probably

We didn’t enjoy our food and left practically all of it. Manager came over and started saying ‘it’s busy’ ‘it’s busy’ then started saying how he’s only just had a break from starting work at 4pm…. It’s your restaurant and your responsibility to run it properly to your paying customers.

We requested the service bill off because food, customer service was awful. The girl sorting the bills out ‘turned her nose up’ and I watched her and she looked down after she got embarrassed by me.

Manager said he recognises me from the times before we came which was BRILLIANT SERVICE.

You just need to sort out how your running your business… won’t be returning again until...
