We visited the farm and adventure playground on a sunny autumn morning for a pre booked session. The social distancing was excellent. There was a clear 'flow' to the farmyard and as only a limited number of people were allowed in, it meant that kids could see all that there was on offer in a safe and timely fashion. There were numerous opportunities to hand sanatise and wash little paws and Chatsworth had someone on the gate to explain how this all worked. The site is buggy accessible but you do need to use a lift to access the craft barn and adventure play area. Although it cannot be denied that in the post Covid world days out can often feel compromised, Chatsworth had done all that they could to make the experience safe and enjoyable. The farmyard is always lovely as the animals look happy and well cared for. There was also a craft tent with a range of craft activities to select from, which my 3year old loved. Once again, this was 'Covid safe' and well organised. We visited the adventure playground for the first time and it was a hit. Most families were adhering to the signs of 'one family' per item. There are so many stations that waiting didn't really prove an issue. We played right until the end of our session at 12 and it felt just the right amount of time - another plus. We made our way to the car through wonderful autumn colour. There are plenty of places to eat at Chatsworth and we may explore these next time. Overall, this was a really super morning. The site was clean, socially distanced and well organised. I will certainly be back. Thank...

Went on 11 April. We were made aware that some of the play equipment was still closed. However we were very disappointed to see that over 50% of the space and area of the play equipment is currently closed off due to building works. If we had known we probably would not off come. I think there should not be full entrance price while this work is being done. The children still enjoyed themselves but the equipment was very busy . Definitely bring a wet suit and wellies.

The farm was fine, however apart from being able to stroke a horse and feed goats it's quite a hand off experience.

The choice of food in the cafe was a bit of a joke. The only hot food was jacket potatoes, soup or a panini. Wished we went to the courtyard cafe instead, as I found out that we could have left and just come back.

There is plenty of eating tables indoor and out door and picnic areas to eat at in the farm. So recommend bringing sandwiches and a pack lunch.

The children liked the education activity barn for 30 minutes making some thing.

On the plus side, the whole farm area and play zone is a dog free zone. Is a shame this can't be extended to the courtyard cafe as there is dog barking constantly.

When we left we went and had a nice ice-cream in the courtyard cafe. Recommend the ice-cream.

Overall my opinion is do not come untill all the children's play area is fully open as it's not worth the money. Make sure you come on a dry day so that you can go for a short walk in the grounds as your paying for the...

Everything about this place was a 10/10. It’s absolutely stunning, surreal views. Super clean, animals were all kept well. So much land to have adventures on. My children managed to have a petting session with the guinea pigs which they loved, although i must say it was poorly run by the lad. He didn’t speak or even say hello. He handed the guinea pigs in baskets out to everyone and didn’t say a word from start to finish except for reminding us to wash hands on our way out. I kind of expected him to speak a little to the children about the guinea pigs. The farm itself was great, eating facilities were great. The playground was giant and fantastic! A great huge slide & climbing area for the older children and then a great area for the smaller children including the sand areas.

The price for the farmyard and playground including parking was actually amazing! Too cheap in my opinion, it was worth way more! This was our first time here since I was a younger child myself and we are definitely coming back for the Christmas at Chatsworth. The atmosphere today was so magical, so I can only imagine how it’ll be at Christmas! A truly beautiful special place. We were here for 5 hours, and we could have stayed longer.

For reference, my 5 year old son said he wanted to stay there forever & he’s never said that about anywhere before. That speaks for itself!

Thank...

Fairly small but actually really good. All the usual farm animals are there and clearly really used to human contact as they're all approachable and friendly, bags of food is available to feed them. Visit in summer for a chance to see baby animals, some of which are only a few days old. Definitely geared towards children overall with one of the best outdoors adventure playgrounds I've seen. It ranges from a sand pit with added water for extra fun...or mess if you're a parent, to a large wooden adventure area with a rope obstacle course and trampoline. Adults can sit down with a pretty decent coffee and chill out, worth taking cash as the playground coffee shop didn't take cards. Food is predictably fairly expensive; however, there's lots of picnic tables and the grounds are free so take your own food and relax by the river.

Great family day out at the Chatsworth House. The kids really enjoyed petting goats, horses, cows, pigs and many more farm animals. FeediNg the animals was super fun and we kept on purchase feeds for the animals. Love the wash areas everywhere keeping the kiddies hands clean and safe ;-) Craft barn was a treat for the kids they enjoyed making bird feeder, arts and crafts and many more activities. Play area was a treat with endless climbing fun on the jungle gym and gorilla ropes. Slides and castles to climb was super fun and challenging. The fly fox was also a huge treat for little ones zooming down the play area lmao. There was also a climbing wall. Social distancing rules were applied well and loads of washing area again keeping everyone safe.
