Unfortunately over the last few days visitors to our beautiful coastline have abused our hospitality. Part of our sea defences and protection from crumbling cliffs have been trampled, smashed and used as firewood. This beach and car park are owned and maintained by the Dunwich Town Trust for the enjoyment of all respectful people. Motorhome users have increasingly stayed all night even when requested politely not to. This is not a free campsite but the people of Dunwich wish for it to remain special, without charge, for the peaceful enjoyment of nature. There is little appetite for more restrictions such as cameras and fines etc. but these must now be considered in the light of this abuse. With a heavy heart. Rod Smith, Trustee...

Public beach with free car parking. There is a restaurant with outdoor seating which was clearly popular when we visited, although we didn't buy anything as we took our own picnic. Part of the restaurant building housed a small section with a hatch that was selling ice creams and lollies. Just as you enter/exit the car park is a building that houses the public toilets, we found them to be clean when we visited. The beach itself is a stone beach, with sand at and below the waterline. Would recommend a pair of rubber/plastic 'water shoes' like those sold for walking on rocky shorelines! There are a couple of benches...

Dunwich beach was absolutely stunning, came here for a nice long walk on the beach, with free parking you don't need to rush and can enjoy watching the waves! The only issue was that there is no access onto the top of the cliff-face from the beach so bear in mind you would need to walk back the way you came but it's still beautiful. We had lunch in The Ship nearby which was lovely and cozy but a little pricey before walking up to Greyfair's to see the ruins which were very picturesque and interesting. You can walk along the top of the cliff at this point which provides amazing views, would highly recommend...
