The rest of the site encourages card payments, however the railway is cash only, something that's not apparent on any of the signs until you get to the station with excited kids. It explained why the trains we saw beforehand were half enpty on a really busy day. We only had a very limited amount of cash so one of the adults sat out, however we were still short for 1 adult 2 kids. The kids had to be accompanied by an adult. We were 25p short so asked if we could be let off the 25p. Told a blunt ' No. Sorry'. Which I understand is their perogative and it's a business. It just felt very unkind to the 4 year olds who wanted to ride and didn't understand why they weren't allowed on. Luckily the most lovely lady stepped in and paid the 25p so one adult and 2 kids could go. They said the ride was good. Several other groups turned up, to be turned away because ' cash only'. There is no cashpoint in the park. There is good 4g/5g, and the train prices are really reasonable so by adding on 50p per person that would cover any card payment costs and make it so much more accessible for everyone, and would greatly...

We arrived at the park late on a Sunday afternoon so I went to check the train times and the sign said it was open until 4pm. I went to get the rest of my family and we arrived at the station at 3.38pm with two very excited little boys. The man at the entry gate however, was just shutting it and told us that we’d just missed the last train. I replied that the sign said it was open until 4. His response was “well we’ve been sat here doing nothing”! Whilst I appreciate it was probably a quiet afternoon for them and they wanted to knock off early for their Sunday dinner, I had two very upset little boys on the way home. If you’re going to advertise that you’re open until 4 then the last train should be at 4 and not 3.30. Put a dampener on what was otherwise a very nice afternoon. It takes nothing to be kind and we were there a good 20 mins before closing. Very disappointing and I’m still...
