A super collection of vehicles throughout the beginning of mechanisation until I think the most recent was an old route master. The staff were great and very knowledgeable. My dad volunteers at the bus museum currently working on a Dennis bus, so I got to go behind the scenes and see other projects in various stages of restoration, plus the amount of work involved is unbelievable. Boxes of old original hinges, many other removed components will all be restored, from with what I understand the only thing that won't be restored and reused was the glass, as it has to be replaced with modern safety glass, but the overall aim was to keep everything as totally original but restored. I stopped by the aircraft museum and found it so emotional, seeing the Wellington bomber that had been almost restored, recovered from loch Ness! And very moving is a WW2 hurricane on the top floor of the museum. Again the staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and happy to talk and explain. I just wish we had had more time to spend there and see more, there's so many original artifacts, stories to read about. The whole experience, enlightened by the commitment and dedication of the...

I recently visited the bus museum, and it was a wonderful day out for the whole family, from grandparents to grandchildren. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of buses, and it's a great way to learn about transportation through the years.
The exhibits were well-maintained and showcased a wide variety of buses from different eras, including vintage models, double-deckers, and even some iconic buses from London. The kids and the grandparents all found something of interest, whether it was the interactive displays, the informative plaques, or simply reminiscing about the buses they used to ride.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and share their passion for buses. There was also a lovely gift shop with bus-themed souvenirs for all ages.
Overall, the bus museum provided a memorable and educational experience for our multi-generational group. We left with a deeper appreciation for the history of transportation and some great family memories. It's a must-visit attraction for anyone looking for an enjoyable day out...
Read moreTook the kids to Brooklands museum which the London Bus museum is inside. This is an amazing collection of old to modern buses while it's not in great numbers it still provides the kids the history of buses.
What I loved the most was being able to ride on the old masters buses, which the ride takes you around the brooklands museum roughly a 10-15 min ride. My kids loved it!
Inside the bus museum there is a little activity area few chairs and tables to do some drawing which they provide colouring pens and paper.
There are toilets, but no area for seating and no food or drinks are allowed. This is part of the Brooklands museum so there are plenty of places outside of the bus museum.
Highly recommend to visit especially to tag onto the brooklands museum. It may not be as big as the London transport museum but it's less crowded and there is...
