It’s nice, great that you can park right next to the beach, which on a dull and moody day during the summer is fairly easy! Expensive charges for parking £2.20 for an hr!! It’s a nice beach here. There is a lifeguard on hand should you need them. The beach huts here are pretty dire and to be honest let the area down. They look like 60’s London Council Blocks. There are some wooden beach huts. Again look tired and let the area down. On the upside/downside depending on how you look at it is that the new BBQ stations have been installed. I would imagine the beach restaurants are going to suffer as a consequence which I can but help wonder what will become of those units, will it further degrade the area? Anyhow a bit of a mixed bag. It needs money spent on it, more than a BBQ is going to fix! What is nice they have added a fake sand dune and begun growing grass on it. It looks nice and it really does add to the aesthetic of the area! Also a bit of an Instagram picture place! All in all I don’t think the council maximises on what this area could be and look like! It’s a shame. Still it’s nice, beach is clean. Parking...
Read moreA really nice place- not normally as busy as Alum Chine and, because you have the rock groynes, you have something a bit different- it's nice to have the higher vantage point at times, good to have just that little bit of shelter if it's windy, and nice to see the wildlife that now gathers around in tiny rockpools forming, and all the beasts that now hang out among the rocks. If you like your kids to do stuff and adventure a bit, and accept that there are potential hazards in climbing over rocks, then it is great- they can do that a bit and go on the sand or in the sea a bit. It's a good place to draw and paint, I think- the cliffs are beautiful, there is a small icecream stall place sometimes open, places to lock your bikes and tap for filling up your water bottles; the loos are up at the community rooms above, so a bit of a trek, but they are there. If you like your wildlife, you have terns diving for tiny fish around you if you're swimming out near the ends of the groynes in the summer, and there are lizards basking around the walls and sandy spots of the...

Highly recommended for family.Unfortunately there was no wheelchair accessible from our location only stairs to go down to the beach. There are loads of bins and recycling bins available which was...
