What a fantastic Inn, just 5 rooms of which 2 are dog friendly so make sure to book in advance. The food wasn’t just regular pub grub either and was just what was needed after a long day of travelling. The Kofta starter was really tasty and we both opted for the chicken and ham hock pie which came with a separate jug of gravy, the pasty was short (perfect in my opinion) and the chips were not of the frozen variety, also came with cabbage, parsnips and carrot all of which were prepared and cooked a little different to the norm. The staff were all super friendly and to top things off the Inn is within a short walking distance to Branksome Chime beach which was also fantastic and thankfully dog friendly. Being able to have the dog with us was great as so often we have to travel without him, the panting did go on through the entire night though. Fantastic food, perfect location and friendly staff, we will definitely return and maybe stay longer.

I visited this venue for a family reunion. It is tucked away in a residential area. Small car park. But there is on street parking. We arrived on a Thursday evening & there was an event on. DJ. I'd say the venue is more suited for drinks than eating a 3 course family dinner The food was nice. Maybe it was just the evening we happened apon. Busy. Our waitress was very busy. Forgot a drinks order. But realised & sorted it. Food felt a tad rushed. If you want a fun vibrant night then I highly recommend. For the over 30s. I'd go for the party type night rather than with kid's & grannies 😍 Maybe call the pub & see what events are going on. Location is a walk up a hill from Chine beach.

Location is great but that is all that is great. Rooms are cramped and mattresses beat up. Our bed sheets were torn and one pillow case was plastic. The second day they did not make our bed, only put some clean towels on the bed. Bathroom sink has two taps, super hot and freezing cold water, can not mix so you can choose between boiling your hands or freezing them solid. Waited forever at breakfast, the friendly owner or manager said there was an issue between the cooks... :( Selection at breakfast is limited. A bit more selection at dinner, decent pub food. Wifi is weak and erratic. Easy free parking on the premises.

Well where can I start. To begin this is not a hotel it is a pub!!||It says it is dog friendly but one is made to feel uncomfortable whilst there and only allowed in certain places!! They say some people have allergies to dogs but to be honest would someone with dog allergy go to a dog friendly pub!The breakfast was good- the service by Mandy wasp8 atrocious.Rude and very unpleasant. The cleaner was mopping the floor whilst we were trying to have breakfast and when asked to wait until we had finished breakfast.Mandy ( do not know surname) the waitress sided with her and said it was ok.||The bedroom was a disgrace. It is obvious nothing has been done since the 1950’s.The furniture is ready along time ago for the skip.||You can hear and feel the springs in the bed.the windows have mould and condensation all over them in the mornings.||Because we had a dog we were only given the very small bedroom. This was not clear when we booked!||Their locking in idea is strange and frightening!!||They lock you in at 10.00 and if you want to go out you have to use the fire escape and to get back in.My dog was frightened of the open slippery steps so I had to carry her up so certainly no good for big dogs or people with walking difficulties.I think it is a disaster waiting to happen with a fire situation or someone needing to go to hospital during the hours of 10.00p.m to 9.00am.||Breakfast was only served between 9.00 and 9.30.so then the breakfast staff were rushing around trying to serve everyone at the same time.||Yet another strange rule!!||We were unable to have a shower because the tap situation did not work and the bathroom ceiling has paper falling off and little ventilation with one window which was locked.||The photos certainly do not portray this pub as it is now!||The rest of the staff Sue and Guy were pleasant and helpful.||We also thanked the cook who did not do a bad job.||But Mandy needs to learn some manners and unfortunately is not a good asset to the running of this establishment.||||The position of this pub is very good. The beach fantastic and to this end we enjoyed being in Poole. However our stay was uncomfortable and extremely disappointing in an establishment which should just concentrate on the pub side and close down the five bedrooms or have a MAJOR make over and a lesson in politeness, curtesy and how to serve guests in a professional manner for Mandy.||I hope for their sake they act on this.We are ex hotel owners and to be honest I did not realise places like this...

If you have allergies you best avoid. I visited with my friend for evening meal and drinks. I ordered the steak on the special board which advertised to be accompanied with chips, tomato, peas and mushrooms. My dinner arrived, after two bites into the steak, I asked the waitress if it had garlic in the basting sauce that was drizzled over the steak, it did have garlic which I am highly allergic to. I was told a new one would be cooked rather than asked if I did or if I wanted an alternative. I was unable to eat any of the new meal as I already became unwell. When it came to the bill, they took off 10% as my friend and I didn't eat our food together. I requested the steak be deducted from my bill. This was argued by the waiter at length as they had deducted 10% as good will gesture but was missing my perspective entirely. My points for not feeling I should pay for the steak; I was not asked if I had an allergies when ordering, I've ordered a meal that is not advertised as having garlic in its ingredients therefore the meal was misadvertised, I was not asked if I wanted a replacement or alternative I was told. The waiter undermined me by saying everywhere cooks their steaks in garlic and it was on me for not stating I had an allergy. To avoid any further confrontation which was getting an awful amount of attention I paid the entirety of the bill and left immediately. I was saddened and highly embarrassed by the situation. Our whole evening was tainted by our experience at the Inn and thereafter as I was unwell. Thankfully once my rescue medication had taken effect I was okay the next day. The Inn should accept responsibility for not following food safety policies by asking regarding allergies, not fully advertising the ingredients and for their insulting and...
