HI , we went to VESUVIO , Friday the 12th (07.19), to be honest it would have been more appropriate "FRIDAY THE 13 " THE WAY THIS PEOPLE TREAT US THERE AND KIKED US OUT WITH A KID. Soooooo.... mysel a friend of mine and his 5 years old, were refused to be served and we were told to leave the restaurant by the owner of VESUVIO , he also told to the waiters and staff not to serve my friend and to the manager as well to come and show us out of the premises , and close the door behind us. ( witch it actually happend after)
The story is this: We went there at the terrace so we can watch the kid playing in the child's playground around at the back of VESUVIO where they have also a small terrace sonthatvyoubsupervise your kids while paying.
The 5 years old had a small water gun with him witch he then left it on the table so he can go and climb, play etc etc . My mate was watching his kid and in the same time he was on the phone , another kid from the table next to us suddenly comes and he grabs the water gun turns around and shoots a person with it in a matter of second (we were told by the manager it was the owner of VESUVIO ), the owner the looked at my mate and tells him ." what are you looking at? Does it seem to be funny ? " . So my friend here tells him .. it is not my child .. so I don't really know why you pick on me while I am actually on the phone and actually watching my real kid playing . Then again my mate is being told he is not just rude for smiling when it happend but he is also a liar denying that is his kid and try to hide from responsibility of what just happened. Then in moments the mother of the "mysterious vigilante " comes and another waiter from there which I supposed to be his father the way they talked between them , and the kid also admits that he used the gun on shooting a person and took it from our table without asking permission, and also in the same time the mystery is solved so everyone knows that it was NOT our child. So the manager of VESUVIO goes inside to tell the owner the real story and hopefully now all is settled and we can stop with all this false accusations and refusing us to be served for nothing really . So again thE VESUVIO MANAGER comes out and tells us that we are still to leave and he can not serve us because the owner had his feeling broken because my mate smiled when he was shot by the kid and he was expecting him to go to him and apologies for smiling instead , and because he did not we should leave and not be served there , so that is the help we got from THE MANAGER of this Restaurant and his BOSS. I just want to say that we are also daily customers of Vesusvio, we have friends we meet daily there and know most of the waiters already and became friends with them too . It is hard to understand why will someone do that to his customers for such a reason We still want to go there despite the incident that occurred on Fridey the 12th, but we do desreve some apologies I should think , after all that happened. And also it is in my opinion that the owner of VESUVIO should not explode like that around 5 years old kids and be a bit more calculated and disciplined in his role over there. I used to work 20 years on the Hospitality industry and on Cruise Lines Ships around the globe, and 5stars Ships , but never have seen that much ego and poor customer service exactly from the owner of the business , and all because of a kid playing with a water gun on a sunny day with 29° Celsius outside on a sand terrace. Not to mention that at one point we were told by him that we are irresponsible because instead of a water gun it could have been a knife on the table and things could have been even worst than that. Now please people make me understand this .... and here I ask you something now : - HOW MANY OF YOU , CARY A 5 YEARS OLD AND A KNIFE HAND TO HAND ? OR WHAT 5 YEARS OLD KID WILL GO TO OTHERS TABLE TO GET A KNIFE AND STAB SOMEONE ?
So bottom line is that Th Owner should apologise for all that happend and invite us...
Read moreVery slow service .Staffs grasp of english bad no good to me ,never again and i had plans to order food only to be told no food they stop serving food odd when its a place that looks like they should do food alday into early evening. lots of staff running around like headless chicken.And its 4gbp for a pint of coke rather steep considering the wait and 6 trips to exchange my small coke which cost 2.30 gbp i didnt even order a size or was asked. i was shocked at the long wait for this simple task and it wasnt that busy and they had like 25 staff standing around with lack of direction i laughed at waiter and said is my coke coming from japan i had to go see what they was doing not once not twice 6 times in all 3 staff said yes ok we bring to you i showed staff my table number, none got to the table with the drink just terrible. i also asked if they could do it at the bar the woman replyed no bar services go to your table in a very rude dismisive way and wait and wait i did all i wanted to get was a coke and wait for my friends to come and then i was going to order food no joy here, i finally got my coke from the guy who was meant to bring it to the table only to find him at the bar standing still with it lol i go is this my drink he gos yes so i took it then he came outside asking me to pay 4bgp i said no i am not going to pay this time as i had to wait over 30 mins for a exchange from small to big i felt it was rather cheeky to ask myself and very high price so i said ill take a refund guy had no change so i had to go to the bar onces again and the woman who i am guessing is the manger took the refund out of the tips jar and not the till offered the drink for free but i didnt take the free drink i just left i was to hot and very shaky at this point and bothered in the 32 c heat i said to her im livid and no thanks for the free drink. Also i will add when trying to explain to several staff what was going on they couldnt understand as there english was poor huh was the reply i dont understand well thats not going to work is it.
I am glad i didnt have to order food as the wait for a small coke to be exchanged was to long ,the coke was very small may i add i wasnt asked in first place for size i asumed it would come in a tall glass no it came in a short glass no straws also.Dont think id make a risk of ordering food although it seems nice the wait would not be for me.

Read moreThe food and location are great! I come to Alum Chine several times a year and this was without doubt my favourite restaurant here, specially for breakfast. However that being said, this season the staff seemed extremely unbothered. In one of the breakfasts we had there the atmosphere felt so tense that in the span of half an hour two tables left, one couple tried comming in, sat and were about to order when they noticed the commotion and left. The table next to us were arguing very loudly with the waitress, she explaining to them that unfortunately when they opened we all sat at the same time so it's not her fault the wait for food was so long. The gentleman went on to tell her this is a Saturday in late July so they should know and prepare for a full house, but she insisted they were doing enough. The wait for food was clearly absurd, some 30-40 mins for cooked and cold breakfasts, drinks also took a long time to come hence the complaints and people leaving. We had our food delivered by another waitress and one egg was missing from my breakfast so I told her, she didn't understand what I said. I repeated to her clearly, "this dish is supposed to have a fried egg on and there is none", she looked at me confused and left. I watched the same waitress pass by and ignore many customers around me, one lady tried repeatedly to get her attention to place an order, this waitress simply wouldn't look at or directly speak to anyone, I assumed she was hired to assist the main staff with bringing out the food and clearing the tables but still you'd expect the minimum politeness from anyone on the floor. About 15 mins later our waitress came by and asked us "what's the problem", after explaining again, she sent the egg out a few mins later, however we had almost finished our food so little to no point by then. Getting the bill and paying was another battle, my family left for the beach while I waited for the process as they were fed up with the whole hour or so of waiting around. A gentleman took my payment at the table without making any eye contact or conversation whatsoever, looking down and stern the whole time. I hope they understand they need to select and train their seasonal staff a lot better...
