Beautiful place for a stroll. Wide, tarmacadam paths, plenty of seats, colourful plants. Unfortunately, litter bins were overflowing, and lots of takeaway rubbish about. Some very interesting tree specimens, but sadly, no labels.

I take my dog for a walk on the arboretum. It's the best place for me and my dog as I can sit on one of the many benches while my dog races round after the squirrels never catching one but wears herself out trying.

Nice and calm walk, clean and fresh air. Lots of pigeons and squirels. At one place, there were many homeless hanging around so better to go in a group or when it s busy.

The park itself is beautiful and maintained well considering the up-hill battle the council must have in maintaining the park and keeping it tidy. Having spent a considerable amount of time on the renovation of the Strutt building (Friends of Arboretum) I have witnessed first hand how the council maintain the park, they do a remarkable job! On the other hand, the place is frequented by vagrants, drug dealers, drug users and adults who just treat the place as their personal dustbin. More SHOULD be done to deter these types of people coming onto this park. At times, I felt intimidated by the dossers hanging around the building that I was working on (alone) They were drinking beer, taking drugs, using the building as a toilet. I was fearful of my vehicle being robbed as these free-loading dossers were blatantly eyeing up my van. In all fairness, I reported most of what I witnessed to the police and they did step up their patrols around the park and moving the dossers along, most of the dossers fled once seeing the police in the park. It's quite unbelievable how these people can treat such a beautiful park with such disrespect. The council and police should have CCTV in operation in this park, they know too well that the place has issues. Having said this, there are many, normal and respectable people using the park to do their daily exercise...

I walk my dog in arboretum daily and I always find some problem there cause the muslim community in this area think they're entitled to a dog free park which it's absolutely unacceptable and disgusting way to think and behave its a public park and no matter what park you go to there will be a DOG WALKER.someone needs to sort this out, end of the day it's just a park I understand some might be intimidated by a dog but my dog is tea cup (the smallest dog can get ) always on a leash and under supervision so if your that intimidated by a tea cup maybe you should think twice before going to a PARK and complaining about your fears of dogs to me because I'm not interested. my dog has a right to be there like everyone else. It's a public park & I pay my taxes to the...

My local park. When we were young, it was our go to for fun and games. As it was a safe and friendly environment, parent supervision wasn't a thing then, and children only knew it was time to go home when the street lamps would start to come on.

Over the years, it hasn't been as safe or friendly, and parents started feeling the need to supervise their children. It became congested, and soon became a gathering place for other, non-friendly activities.

However, on my visit some evenings ago, it felt as comfortable and safe as it was in the past. So many adults going for evening walks around the park, parents and children in the play area, playing and having a ladies catch up. It was nice. Fingers crossed its...
