Card Only! If the man wasn’t so nice running it, I would have perhaps not been so happy! But I will bypass my thoughts on card only, on this occasion. Because, this service for me was a lifeline. I wouldn’t have been able to have made it to the spit and definitely not back again had it not been for the land train. It was fun. It was only Ā£2.20 per adult. Under 16 free!! Honestly how could you find fault with that! Thank you for providing an excellent and an affordable service - basically even on low income you can enjoy this and I think for that, you can excuse anything! Only thing to note and it almost caught us out. Last train is 5pm! We were there for 5pm but there was such a long queue that they had to come back again, but that was at their discretion, they didn’t have to do it. So if you definitely need the train…make sure you are there in plenty of time for the last train 😁

The Hengistbury Head Land Train offers a beautiful way to explore the stunning landscapes of Hengistbury Head. The one-way ride, approximately 15-20 minutes, provides picturesque views and a relaxing experience. However, the last train back at 5 PM limits the exploration window.Suggestion: During the summer, extending the operational hours beyond 5 PM would enhance the experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic beauty during the later part of the day. Overall, a delightful ride, but longer operating hours could make it even more enjoyable.

Great day out with the kids catch the land train down to the beach and enjoy the soft sand with great views of all the little beach huts and not the normal hustle and bustle of Bournemouth beach. Parking is expensive for the day but worth it tbh

Don’t think I’ve been spoken to so rudely in a long time. I simply asked if we could pay by cash and the driver said: ā€œWell I’m standing here with a card machine.ā€ Ok, a simple ā€˜no, only card’ would have been fine. When we explained it was the first time we’d used the train, the guy said ā€˜Well you’ll know for next time’. As if we’d done something wrong… not a nice way to talk to people and we were otherwise having a nice day until that happened. I’ll avoid using it in the future which is a shame, as we’ve just moved to the area. It was the older guy, not the younger one just in case there’s...

It may provide a useful transport service but the ride is bumpy and on hard plastic seats. Unlike a promenade land train, you can't see this land train until it is on top of you. The route is shared by pedestrians, cyclists, families with buggies, dog walkers and the occasional commercial vehicle. A small railway, cutting across the edge of the harbour would provide a comfortable ride and minimise any conflict with people heading to Mudeford. There are several examples of what can be done, environmentally safely, at Fairbourne, Romney and places in...
