Isles of Scilly are truly beautiful but if you arrive on a day trip by boat you will not see much of them in the 3 hours before you have to leave. Fly/Sail is a much better option if you want to pay extra. There are boat trips to other islands leaving you 2 hours on those islands. If you like battlements and old cannons turn right off the quay road, up the unmade road towards the Star castle, which is now a restaurant so not much to see of that. From the Castle take the first footpath down towards the coast to arrive at the battlements and the many cannons. Following the battlements all the way and then the road you will arrive at the Castle gatehouse again.

Well you're not gonna find a bad review on the Isles of Scilly. Beautiful place to spend some relaxing time. I/we like many will return again and spend a bit more time there next time

A haven from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters no litter and friendly locals. Highly recommend. Can't wait to return again. Thank you Isles of Scilly.

I'm privileged to have a part share in a small boat that can get me to these unique islands that lie so close to Cornwall. They are only about 20 miles off Lands End but you'd be forgiven for believing they are thousands of miles away in some semi tropical location. I try to get here every year. Visiting is a unique experience as life on these ancient granite outcrops is dominated by the ocean and it's winds, at one moment savage and violent requiring tall thick hedges to provide shelter and then mild with beautiful views at almost every turn. The oceans warmth keeps the islands almost frost free so that exotic plants from all over the world thrive. Life here revolves around boats and ferries, the Scillonian connection to Penzance providing everything not...

Everyone is different but we have not yet found 'anyone ' who does not love this area. I went with my partner as she had it on her bucket list. Each day we walked a little more around this wonderful setting, enjoying each part and the whole scenery giving back just what we required, A massive dose of happiness and de-stressing. It's like a dream come true, no cars and just scenery and peace. If all you want is to relax then book, but it is hard to get accommodation unless you book early 'months or a year ahead in advance...
