We have visited here before on previous trips to the Scilly isle and we visited a number of times in April 2018 over the Easter period. The food and hospitality is faultless. It is out-of-the-way but a perfect location if walking around/through the island taking in some of the beaches or nature reserves. The food really is first class and freshly made to order, at a reasonable price. It is dog-friendly (outside in the sun), but dog are not allowed inside, except guide dogs. As of April 2018 it is cash only, no cards. You are able to park buggies and bikes in the car park but you are requested to move them before close of play. I really cannot speak highly enough of this cafe and would recommend to all. Pictured is a cheese and Ham ploughmans, enough for two...

A lovely place to enjoy lunch!

Considering I skipped breakfast that day, I decided to pop in here on my bike ride so I could recharge my batteries with a Cornish Fuel Cell (Pasty).

The staff were great, and the lady serving me expertly guessed the right amount of mayo sachets to go with my Pasty (3).

The garden area was incredibly idyllic, with the tame locals birds bullying me into giving them some of my crumbs. I probably shouldn't have done this, but with the Pasty this good it's worth sharing IMHO. As a fan of Blackbirds, the one that came over to me was incredibly sweet.

They accept card but PAY IN CASH! It helps the local businesses...

The end of of stay in the Scillies coincided with the first day of opening for the season at Carn Vean. We had visited before and didn't think it could get better, we were wrong. The food, the service, the speed and friendly welcome was excellent. The value for money is very good and way better than anywhere else we found. There are some new additional covered seating areas and ample seating to enjoy the sun. We stumbled across Carn Vean 6-7 years ago walking to Pellistry, it is now out go to place to eat. I would recommend the walk, drive or cycle for a coffee,...

The best food, service and value on all the islands. This is our go-to place to eat, having visited now for a few years. The quality of the food is excellent, the service friendly and polite and the price is great value for money. We had the ploughman's, cheese and cheese/ham versions and some sandwiches that needed two hands to hold. This was finished off with some "Jaffa cake"... Never had this before but to die for. It is well worth the work to Pellistry bay to see the seals before heading off for a well-earned, coffee, cake or meal.
