This is a truly spectacular and sensational Cave Attraction set the heart of Torquay, which is an absolute spectacular and truly breathtaking Natural Wonder. The Caverns themselves are Britain oldest showcases and also they are one of the oldest Caverns in the UK dating back to to the times of the Neanderthals and the very first humans and some of the features inside the Cave are simply amazing and some of the features are the best of any Showcaves in the UK. Access into the Caverns is by guided tour only and the tour of the Caverns are excellent, well structured and well delivered and thoroughly interesting and informative where you learn fascinating facts about how the Caves were formed through natural geological processes, how they discovered and explored during the Victorian times and also learn about the remains of Early Humans that were found and also Prehistoric animals such as Cave Bears and Hyenas and on the tour you can see the Skulls of Early Humans and Neanderthals and the jawbone of a 12 year old cavegirl which is absolutely intriguing and amazing. As you go around the tour of Caves you can see the breathtaking and jawdropping features such as The Stalagmites and Stalagtites, The Columns and The Face in the Rock, which emanates from the Roman Period when Romans explored the Caves and thought the Face was that of a God and left some coins as part of the ritual. Other features to see is the flowstone, which is exquisite and brings out more of its beauty and awe inspiration. The tour of the Caves last approx 45 minutes and is one of the best and most captivating Cave tours in the UK. The tour guides deliver the tours enthusiastically and in a entertaining way keeping you interesting and captivated. There is also very interesting and informative exhibition about the Stone Age and how it affected Kents Cavern and there is further information about the people who discovered the Caves and within the exhibition you can see further fascinating artefacts such as Early Human Skulls and also bones of Cave Bear and other rocks which are brilliant on the eye. Outside of the Caverns there a number of walks including a Woodland Trail where you can see large figures of a Woolley Mammoth, Cave Bear, Irish Elk, Scimitar Cat and Horse which are wonderfully displayed and there are informative information boards about the creatures, which is very intriguing and interesting. There is a Cafe on site selling a range of food and drink at reasonable prices and also a gift shop selling a lovely range of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall this is a truly spectacular, amazing and awesome place to visit making for a fascinating, interesting and memorable day out. Definitely well worth a visit...

What a fantastic place to visit! I reached it by catching the Number 22 bus that goes uphill from the town centre, getting off at St Matthias Church. From here, it's a 6 minute walk downhill past some shops and cafes to get to the entrance to Kent's Cavern. There's a small car park, a map, a picnic area, and steps and ramps up to the booking office and gift shop. Adult admission was £18.95. The guided tour lasted about an hour. David was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide; he shared lots of interesting facts and stories about the geology of the caves, the prehistoric people (and cave bears!) who lived here, and the numerous archaeological finds, as we made our way through the narrow passages and chambers. The floor was a bit uneven and slippery in places, so stout footwear is essential, but the caves were well lit, and apart from nine steps at the start of the tour, the paths were level. It felt like we had entered a mysterious world untouched by the passage of time. Impressive rock formations, beautifully floodlit, comprising different minerals and colours, and complete silence except for the dripping of water. At the end of the tour, you experience a complete blackout for a couple of minutes. I felt a real sense of what life must have been like for our primitive ancestors. The shop has some lovely gemstone jewellery, books, and cuddly prehistoric beasts. There's a nice café where you can get sandwiches and light meals. I followed the woodland trail afterwards. It's really beautiful, but be aware that the gravel paths are steep in places, with a few very deep steps. There are info boards about various prehistoric animals, and you get to meet some of them as you walk around. A few activities for children, including building a primitive shelter. All in all, this was a really memorable experience! Kent's Cavern is well...

Prepare to be utterly spellbound! My recent descent into the subterranean wonders of Kents Caverns was nothing short of breathtaking. To venture deep beneath the earth and witness the silent, ancient artistry of nature is an experience I won't soon forget.

Our guide, the brilliant (and I believe her name was Liv), truly brought this hidden world to life. She was an absolute gem – entertaining, keeping the whole group thoroughly engaged, and possessing a wealth of knowledge about the caves that was truly impressive. Liv effortlessly guided us through the labyrinthine passages, illuminating the incredible rock formations, the majestic stalagmites reaching skyward (or rather, the cave ceiling-ward!), and their stalactite counterparts descending with elegant grace. The explanations of their formation were fascinating and made these geological marvels even more awe-inspiring.

But the wonders didn't stop at the stunning scenery. To see actual caveman artifacts and the fossilised remains of creatures that roamed this very spot millennia ago – giant hyenas and formidable cave bears – sent shivers of excitement down my spine. It's a tangible link to a distant past, a powerful reminder of the history held within these ancient rocks.

The story of the cave's discovery and exploration was equally captivating, adding another layer of intrigue to the experience. It's a testament to human curiosity and the enduring allure of the unknown.

All in all, a visit to Kents Caverns is an absolute must. It's more than just a walk through a cave; it's a journey through time, guided by passionate and knowledgeable individuals like Liv. If you're looking for an incredible and truly fascinating experience in Torquay, look no further. I wholeheartedly...

Embarking on an unforgettable journey into the depths of history and natural wonder, our visit to Kents Caverns exceeded every expectation. From the moment we stepped foot into this enchanting realm, we were transported back in time to an era of ancient mysteries and awe-inspiring formations. The caverns themselves are a masterpiece of nature's craftsmanship, with stunning stalactites and stalagmites adorning every corner, creating a mesmerizing landscape that captivated our senses at every turn. As we wandered through the labyrinthine passages, guided by knowledgeable and passionate expert Alan, we were enthralled by tales of prehistoric life and the fascinating geological processes that shaped these caverns over millions of years. But Kents Caverns offered more than just breathtaking scenery; it provided a truly immersive experience that engaged all our senses. From the echoes of our footsteps reverberating off the walls to the subtle play of light illuminating hidden chambers, every moment was filled with wonder and discovery. What truly set Kents Caverns apart, however, was the dedication of its staff to ensuring an unforgettable visit for every guest. Their enthusiasm and expertise transformed our exploration into an educational adventure, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of the natural world. In conclusion, our time at Kents Caverns was nothing short of extraordinary. It's a place where history comes to life, where ancient secrets await discovery, and where memories are made to last a lifetime. We cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking a truly magical experience. Huge thank you to Alan our tour guide

A good morning out, £41 for family ticket which Included cave tour for 4 of us and use of garden/picnic area and wood walk which was quite fun for around 20 minutes. Us grown ups really enjoyed the tour, but it did take a little while for kids to get used to the dark and stop asking to leave. There is total blackness at one point when they demonstrate the shell torches that would have been used, so worth thinking about if you're taking children. As someone that gets very claustrophobic, I was fine in the caves as they are wide open, there's a clear escape and a decent path so all good there. Only bit that made me sweat a little from lack of space was the start of the tour where the 50 people in the group (very busy day) wait in one little room. It wasn't for long though, so all good. There's a few artifacts and bits and bobs to look at outside the cave entrance and a very big cafe, lots of toilets and a fun fossil finding part. We also did some crafts outside which the kids enjoyed, though it's worth noting you'll need cash for that separately. A fun morning out, initially we felt the price was high bit the caves are fascinating and understandably require a lot of upkeep I imagine to keep them safe. If you want a safe way of cave exploring this is well worth a trip and the coast is just nearby for more exploring. Our favourite parts were the stalegmites/tites (sorry about spelling) and the face in the rock.
