Middlesborough Town Hall is an amazing piece of architecture. It was the first time I attended a show, so I actually got to view the place inside. It's amazing how they created the internal building for the shows. The queues for the drinks go down quick as there are a few serving at the same time. The toilets were immaculate. 10/10 I saw the Diana Ross Story. The show was amazing. The reason I gave low score is the experience around me whilst watching the show. I was seated in the stalls area about half way down from the stage.. I think most people who turn up were there just to drink play on their phones and chat.. this was from start to finish... by the looks of the previous reviews.. this happens on a regular basis.. I nearly walked out half way through. Hard to hear the singer with the noise around me, people walking up and down the aisles. I will not be attending anymore shows at this town hall unless I see reviews showing that this...

I HATE this place.

I went to see a Joe Lycett show and due to a mistake with seating I managed the first 30 minutes looking at the show at a 70 degree angle before my back and neck seized. My small friend (chest size medium) did not fit in the stupidly sized chairs. I then gave up and left the auditorium and spoke with the manager who was lovely.

I go to a lot of shows and concerts and this is without exception the most money grabbing I have had the displeasure to attend with seats packed so close together and so close to the stage it was shamelessly inconsiderate.

It is in a rough area where my friends and I pushed through two groups of fights- one to get in, and another to get out.

Drinks are ambitiously priced for a third rate venue in a fourth rate town and served with lacklustre speed and varied quality.

I can think of no circumstance beyond a threat of physical harm that would entice me back...

Arrived in good time to queue for a live concert to see Enter Shikari plus supporting acts.

Queue times were ridiculous and slow moving.

Got to the front and they were bag searching and pocket searching literally everyone. Door staff made a statement "and this is what happens when you book via a 3rd party and not direct", like this was "our fault".

Practically missed the 1st band which sounded good so was a tad disappointed.

Balcony seating is poorly layed out. Instead of the house brick layout so you can see in between the person in front, the seats are laid out like busses and trains... It's only because the people behind me stood up to watch the concert could I also stand up.

However!!!! I still rate this place 4 stars because the staff were very friendly, accommodating and drinks were a good price. The PA sound system was very good and overall, other than the negatives, I had a...

A multi-million pound plan to transform the town hall into a top class cultural and heritage venue was announced by Middlesbrough Council in 2015. Plans include an upmarket bar, coffee shop or restaurant with a glass atrium, a new multi-functional community room, new seating and toilets, lighting to illuminate the building at night and refurbishing of the theatre and crypt. Plans also include opening up parts of the building currently inaccessible to the public, including the Victorian courtroom, cells and fire station which would be made into heritage attractions in their own right. Work began in April 2016 with an expected 21 month timeframe required to complete the work.

Middlesbrough Town Hall is a stunning piece of architecture that boasts impressive details throughout. The building is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture, with intricate carvings and ornate decorations adorning every surface. The town hall is also connected to a modern building, creating a unique contrast between old and new. The overall effect is both striking and impressive, making Middlesbrough Town Hall a must-see for anyone interested in architecture and design
