Absolutely fantastic. My husband and I went with our 5 children and my parents thinking it would amuse the children for a little while and be nice for us but the children were happy all day and so were we. First and foremost the people are absolutely lovely in the whole place from the shop to the cafe and museum and were so friendly and welcoming it gave us a happy vibe straight away. The museum is lovely, interesting and really well set out, the barn was lovely to look around and we bought a couple of unique gifts, the play areas were brilliant and we got a drink from the cafe and would have had food if we hadn’t already eaten as it looked delicious and was really well priced. Read moreThe museum is a fantastically curated window into a lesser known railway line in Kent. The admission price is cheap and worth it form the quality of exhibits packed into the relatively small footprint of the buildings. Exhibits are displayed clearly and there is a host of information available about the history of the Elham Valley Line and it's influence on the local area. There's also a beautifully maintained model of the channel tunnel terminus in Folkestone that was rescued from another local exhibition centre. I remembered that as a child and it's great to see it here among a fantastic display concerning the entire channel tunnel project. Read moreWent here over weekend. In addition there was a military “living history “ event with equipment and people dressed in period dress and uniforms. This added something we were not expecting and added to the day. The railway museum has a fantastic model and display around the channel tunnel project. I think it was part of original visitor Center which closed down. A signal box where you can use phones and levers. Another building with railway artefacts. A large static engine as well as a mini railway with ride. Ideal family day out with friendly staff/ volunteers. Easy parking and refreshments. Location what3words
