Oh my gosh this place is absolutely amazing for walking your doggies! Don't let the mucky sign fool you, this place is a gem! There's a big green field just off the car park (which is free 🥳). This is perfect for my doggies, because, I don't know about you guys, but they have to blow off some steam initially. Then you'll see around the greens there are trails for the woodlands. There is a small pond which has been fenced of with low wire fence. The whole area is somewhat secure there is fencing all around, however at places it has fallen down. Nonetheless the trails are a fair distance from the edge so it's not an issue. The doggies can go off the lead which is another bonus, no horses that we saw of, didn't even see horse tracks and no livestock either. There are toilets in the Caffe/restaurant and food as well. I did not try the food so cannot really comment on that. We will be coming back here. Lovely stress free walk...bliss 🥰

Just had a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Burnt Stump near Mansfield and couldn't wait to share! I opted for the roast chicken, and my wife had the turkey – both were absolutely delicious and incredibly generous portions. For dessert, I indulged in a classic apple crumble and custard, while my wife, feeling a bit playful, enjoyed the doughnut rings with chocolate sauce from the kids' menu (a brilliant choice!). The drinks were spot on, and the service was genuinely good. The only minor point was the staff being a little too attentive with clearing tables, which felt a touch unnerving at times, but it certainly didn't detract from what was, all in all, a truly great dining experience. Highly recommend for a tasty and satisfying Sunday roast!"

Good spot for walking your dog or just taking a stroll through nature there is a big field for dog walkers to let there dog run around on and also a decent size woods for a walk with a small pond in the middle of the park. Not much to see but it a very nice place

this was a beautiful park very popular with picnicers on a sunny day. That was until Notts Police stole the car park during covid under the guise that it was "under used" and put up electronic barriers to keep the public out. Of course it was under used we were all locked in our houses because of a deadly virus. It wasn't like the police couldn't use it as it was but having spoken to an an officer who works there she said " well it makes it a bit safer for us" They could have put up barriers to provide everyone with the same level of protection and reduce the risk of car theft and still kept it public. This clearly shows that Notts police don't care if your car gets stolen and think they deserve better than everyone else and so feel it's OK to make one of the nicest parks in nottinghamshire totally inaccessible to more than a hand full of people. Since hardly anyone can access the park there now it's only a matter of time before they take over the rest...
