Great quality and a good price for the mains. We visited on a friday around 4pm We visited here last week with our 3year old son. There are two menus, the standard table menu and the speciality board. We ordered from the menu (pie for my wife. Kofta and salad for me and pasta surprise(hidden vegetables) for my son. The pie was good, the kofta and salad were amazing. It has been our experience that the true tell of a place is the children's menu. Often it is cheap, mass produced packet food that is often tasteless and poor quality. I am pleased to say that my son's meal was of equal quality to ours, the three of us shared the whole meal and enjoyed every bite. Sadly though the meal was not perfect. As often happens we fell for the temptation of the deserts. Where as the main meal was amazing, the deserts were quantity over quantity. Although perfectly well made and at home in most generic pubs, these deserts fell flat next to the main. So. Starters were nice Mains were amazing Deserts fell flat Coffee matched genuine italian coffee On a side note, the field behind the pub is a nice place to walm around after a meal

First of, I feel that since my initial review this system has been spammed with false 5 star reviews. The pictures don't lie. Marstons really really need to invest some money into this place. Fantastic location and staff but it's in no fit state to be open. No hot water in the toilets, lets hope thats not the case in the staff facilities. Questionable stains on seats, seats filthy and threadbare and ripped with sharp staples exposed some with wobbly legs, tables need re varnishing. dire state of disrepair and needs closing down for a spruce up. Hate to think what the kitchen facilities look like if this is how the front of house is. First visit in many many years whilst passing. Not how I remembered it in my childhood summers living local. shan't be returning any time soon.. really sad that the brewery has allowed it to get to this. On the plus side every member of staff i come across was really freindly including the passionate manager. The food was fantastic and no complaints on that side. I shall also be forwarding this review to marstons themselves to try help get some funding for this place before summer..

A pleasant experience.😊 Basically we wanted to walk in the Sherwood Pines but it was closed 😐 so we decided to pay a visit to Burnt Stump and have a drink and bite. Location: The pub is located next to Burntstump County Park🌳 which is worth to visit on normal weather conditions. It has a nice free carpark just in front of the building. It is a well designed and good looking place with a pleasant atmosphere. On top of that it is doggo friendly. 😊 Waiting Staff: As soon as we entered the building a kind waitress showed us to our table and gave us the Sunday menu. In the bar where we ordered, the gentleman with the blue shirt took our order. He had an excellent knowledge about the food and drinks. Food and drinks: We ordered a nachos to share. It was lovely to see that the cheese was melted not like other places where the cheese is burnt and solid. The jalapenos gave a nice kick however bigger portions of dip especially guacamole would have been appreciated. The Buttermilk chicken goujons were delicious and we'll presented. The BBQ sauce was incredible.

I had picked venue for a meeting up of 8 old friends 7 of us arrived at 12.15 I bought a drink but by the time the last person arrived I had to queue 20 minutes just to get her a drink the two members of staff were working as hard as they could but they weren’t enough to cope with serving drinks, answering phone taking meal orders and helping those struggling with car registration. when we had chosen our meals rather than queue again to order food we decided to use QR code and order at table spent a good 10 minutes doing that only to find basket emptied when I tried to pay so had to queue up again! meal arrived 30 minutes after order placed food was ok but main meals were as small as lunch deal meals and not worth the extra, then had to queue to say we had finished and would like puddings, no one came to clear table (because there was only one member of staff serving food) she eventually came with the 3 puddings we’d ordered she cleared away the 3 plates for puddings to be put down and we were left with the other dirty plates for the remainder of the time we were there, I spent 20 minutes queuing for coffees at bar to be told the coffee machine was broken and because of the need to queue we had one drink each in the 3 and a half hours we were there, and there was nearly an hour and a half time lapse between us arriving and getting food, the staff did their best but not enough of them we won’t be going back...

I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt I had to on this occasion as we had an awful experience.

Went yesterday evening (Sunday). Pub wasn’t very busy at all. Ordered some nibbles to share (not even a proper meal).

After waiting 40 minutes for the food, we asked a waiter if the food was coming. He came back to tell us it would be another 5-10 minutes due to a mishap. The food arrived 20 minutes later and we were told that our food order ticket had been accidentally thrown away. So as a gesture of good will they would give us free desserts.

Ordered the free desserts at the bar, all good, then sat waiting for them. 30 minutes later a waitress comes over and asks if we’ve had the desserts, which we hadn’t, so says she will go and find out what’s going on. Comes back after 10 minutes to tell us that the same thing has happened AGAIN and the food order ticket was never put through the till as it was a free food order (which was the gesture of good will!!). She said she had asked the manager about giving us a refund but he had refused. We also thought it was bad that the manager didn’t come out to tell us this himself.

Very poor customer service. We had multiple waiters passing our table the whole time we were waiting and not one realised that something was wrong. It was only because of the lovely blonde waitress asking us that anything got sorted.

Definitely won’t be returning here again....

So there was no lime or blackcurrant for my drink.

Served up Coke from the pump that was 100% pure syrup, on returning it the manageress informed that, yes we know, its not filtering through properly... why serve it!!! There was pints of coke along the back of the bar which had obviously been returned. If I as a parent hadn't of tasted it, my child would of just drank it! The glass had lipstick around it too!

No beef left for the Sunday dinner, out of the 4 choices I asked for, 3 weren't available!

The 3 main meals weren't hot, asked for chips and got fries which were shrivelled up. Asked for chicken coupons and popcorn chicken, got only coupons!

Tables were absolutely disgusting, sticky is not the word, as was the menu in my hand. Had to ask for cutlery, waited 5 mins for it to be brought to the table, which was after the food was brought out. No salt on the table, just pepper... eventually brought us salt in a paper packet as couldn't find any of the salt pots!

The carpet is filthy and chairs were ripped and dirty... desperate need of closing it down and refurbishment.

Lots of dogs in there which I don't mind but I saw some up on a chair, that is wrong when they are used by customers.

Will never return whilst it's like this.... it once was a lovely well.presented place but...
