Great quality and a good price for the mains.
We visited on a friday around 4pm
We visited here last week with our 3year old son. There are two menus, the standard table menu and the speciality board. We ordered from the menu (pie for my wife. Kofta and salad for me and pasta surprise(hidden vegetables) for my son. The pie was good, the kofta and salad were amazing. It has been our experience that the true tell of a place is the children's menu. Often it is cheap, mass produced packet food that is often tasteless and poor quality. I am pleased to say that my son's meal was of equal quality to ours, the three of us shared the whole meal and enjoyed every bite. Sadly though the meal was not perfect. As often happens we fell for the temptation of the deserts. Where as the main meal was amazing, the deserts were quantity over quantity. Although perfectly well made and at home in most generic pubs, these deserts fell flat next to the main.
So. Starters were nice
Mains were amazing
Deserts fell flat
Coffee matched genuine italian coffee
On a side note, the field behind the pub is a nice place to walm around after a meal

A pleasant experience.š
Basically we wanted to walk in the Sherwood Pines but it was closed š so we decided to pay a visit to Burnt Stump and have a drink and bite.
Location:
The pub is located next to Burntstump County Parkš³ which is worth to visit on normal weather conditions. It has a nice free carpark just in front of the building.
It is a well designed and good looking place with a pleasant atmosphere. On top of that it is doggo friendly. š
Waiting Staff:
As soon as we entered the building a kind waitress showed us to our table and gave us the Sunday menu.
In the bar where we ordered, the gentleman with the blue shirt took our order. He had an excellent knowledge about the food and drinks.
Food and drinks:
We ordered a nachos to share. It was lovely to see that the cheese was melted not like other places where the cheese is burnt and solid. The jalapenos gave a nice kick however bigger portions of dip especially guacamole would have been appreciated.
The Buttermilk chicken goujons were delicious and we'll presented. The BBQ sauce was incredible.

Food came out way too quick. Starters are super small and expensive for what you get. Maine came out within a few minutes after finishing our starters which is a red flag. It came out boiling hot like itās been blasted in a microwave then served. The burger is small. Fits in palm of hand and have a few sad fries. They ran out of garlic bread so they offered to replace it with chips or chips and salad. I asked for just chips and got a salad which I was charged for. Plus the salad was dead and you have big chunks of onion with the root at the bottom. Very disappointing. Had a chocolate cake asked for it warm and it came cold and dry. They also ran out of one pudding as well. It wasnāt even 6pm and theyāve ran out of a few items when the place had only a few people. Wouldnāt bother coming here again. Recommend going to splinters in Arnold instead. Their food is much better quality and it comes correctly and have the food items in.

The actual location and pub itself is great, so beautiful to sit out in the sun and super dog friendly. However, the food is absolutely terrible, we ordered two roast chicken dinners, the chicken was bone dry and tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The gravy was so watery and tasted only of rosemary, gross.
The veg was old but actually cooked well, not overcooked which was a shock considering the rest of the dinner, it was freezing mind.
We asked for horseradish and they brought us tartare sauce and which we put on our plates not knowing. Asked for thicker gravy, they brought out the same one. Honestly the worst roast dinner Iāve ever had, was flabbergasted they didnāt offer us a refund based on the tartare sauce incident. Mashed potatoes were lumpy tasteless and as cold as frosty the snowman.
If you want a pint and nothing more with nice views this is your place, the food though, my dogs wouldnāt even eat.

For a starter, £4.95 for about 6 mushrooms is not worth the money, you should see for yourself. The main, a mixed grill, was a portion of uncooked peas along with two onion rings, chips and two fried eggs. The actual mixed grill was a beef burger, two sausages, a raw piece of stake; that really was raw, and not undercooked, another piece of unidentifiable meat, with a portion of gamon that may as well have been a horse lick, and finally, a piece of chicken that was that dry, it could probably drink more than me. When we spoke with the waiter, who was very friendly, he went to speak with the manager, who offered us a free £4.95 dessert, for a £22.75 mixed grill. Other than this, the other two meals were fantastic, and we recieved amazing service.

Great time on our Wedding Reception
Very cosy setting and good service
Food was good and value for Money. We had our wedding reception there and the staff there was very accommodating. They did a final touch by given us a wedding card and they went through great lengths to make sure we were served on time . I definitely would recommend them to anyone doing a function.
We went back on 14th February 2018 for the occasion as they also put a special valentine's meal menu 3 courses for 2 people for £30.00 .
However the sections for Starters and Desserts were misleading as our Bill came to more than expected
It would have been better to highlight the fact that If you pick the option of sharing that you pay more than £30.00
