Weâve been to Dixie dot 3 times in the past and decided to go again 4 weeks ago. I will preface this by saying weâve never had an issue before and thoroughly enjoyed our experiences before the last one. We arrived on time and was told to choose our pieces. I found one coaster and enquired if they had any more so I could make a set. Despite there being multiple boxes strewn across the studio, which clearly contained coasters, I was rudely told by the manager âyou can have 1 more but no more than that as we need themâ. Deciding to opt for something else, we sat down to start painting. Previously, we had been offered paint pens for more intricate painting. These were being used by the manager on an adjacent table. I asked if we were able to use some and were told rudely âno Iâm using themâ. I asked if we may be able to use them when the manager was finished and was told âwe donât offer them to customers anymore as we constantly have to clean them, but I suppose you can use one quicklyâ. I used one and gave it back to the manager. We were really disappointed that this hadnât been explained to us, as it would have drastically altered the designs we had planned. We hastily finished our pieces and paid. 2 weeks later, we hadnât heard about collecting our our pottery. I sent a private message on Facebook which was read and subsequently ignored. 5 days later I sent a private message on Instagram to be told someone would call me back. I then received a rude phone call from Dixie Dot to advise âyour pottery has been waiting for you, we have text you 2 days agoâ. I explained that I hadnât received a text and was basically told âwell weâve text you so come and collect itâ. I understand that it must be a difficult business to run but personally I found the experience to be mediocre and the customer service poor. Not to mention the fact that the studio was so cluttered with boxes and we were unable to paint the items we had hoped and use the materials we had done previously. Itâs such a shame as we previously had great experiences here, but sadly have...

I have emailed and called non stop to ask whether I could change the colour and whatâs going on with the order, then got through finally, the lady on the phone said she would get back to me and didnât. I eventually went into the store and asked, the lady who was working said sheâd change the colours for me. She hasnât done this not even added the yellow to the mug. Then got a call Sunday, called back straight away no answer AGAIN. Went to pick the pottery up, the vase was missing from the order upon collection. Now I have to go back in as I have no hope of contacting Dixie dot. I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. Terrible customer service once youâve paid they arenât interested in getting back to you or monitoring their emails or calls and canât managed to get...

So our 5 year old went along for a group session via rainbows and made an incredible hedgehog money box using clay and foam clay but thatâs not really the point here.
This is a wonderful creative space for children, and adults to put down their phones and actually use their brains and enjoy something meaningful.
I canât wait to take my son when heâs a little older!
Tracey has put so much effort into this space and itâs an absolute oasis in a world full of apps, devices, fast food, televisions and so on....
Itâs all been put together with care and love; this was the first time Iâd visited and like others Iâd told I was going .... âso whatâs Dixie dotâ? And I said, I donât know but Iâll find out - itâs something that will flourish!
Book a session or class now and youâll love it :-)
