I took my Granddaughter to the advertised Christmas Fayre today, the event was advertised as been on between 10:00-16:00. We arrived at 15:15 and were refused entry as we were told the stall holders had finished and were going home, I said that was strange as the event was advertised to be finishing at 16:00, the lady then said that the last admission was to be 15:30, which I said great to as I pointed out that it was only 15:15, another lady then said no the last admission was 15:15, again I said great as its 15:15 now, but again I was refused entry. I was very disappointed by the very strange and very changing conversation as to when the event was due to close and that the stall holders had gone home???? As for my distraught Granddaughter words cannot cover her disappointment at what would have been the start of her festive period. If you are going to not tell the truth, then get your stories right!!!! And correctly advertise your...

After living in and around gosport for the last 31 years! I've never been to Fort Brockhurst till recently and even though it's small and not a lot there it's a beautiful place (not something for a day trip but on the way too something, as part of a day out or on the way back it's ideal) the reinactors were amazing too! Really friendly and informative.. Great team up there just a shame its only opened once a month for around 6 months of a year but I get 8ts probably all ran by donations.. thanks to...

A great place to visit with lots of history on view. Built between 1858-62 this is one of Palmerston's forts to defend Portsmouth. There are lots of things to explore, including exhibits, and is a great place to have a picnic too. There is a moat going around the fort that can be fished. There is a car park close to the entrance and was easy enough to park there (please note that there is only the lower parts of the fort accessible to the disabled). A wonderful day out and all completely...

Restoration is very slow a lot of the site is being used for storage of non affiliated stuff. There were very few guides (I encountered one)there were no re-enactments only a few boards describing bits and it is very rarely open. However there is a lovely area where you can have picnics the walk around the moat is lovely with a fair amount of wildlife and the history of the place is magnificent. There is even a section that was destroyed by a bomb during ww2
