Staff are pleasant and I've always enjoyed the range from Costa. On this visit I used the drive thru and as I didn't hear anyone or see anything displayed on the screen at the intercom position, I thought they were dealing directly from the hatch. Unfortunately this turned out not to be the case and I was told I would have to re-join the queue (I had waited for nearly 20min already). The team member was very apologetic and polite about it, but insisted this was the only way. I get that staff are sometimes tied by procedures, but perhaps may need to be allowed to allow some discretion depending on the circumstances. I didn't fancy re-joining the queue, just for a quick coffee and waiting even longer so on this occasion I missed out. On the plus side, at least I now know that this is the policy so I'll definitely wait at the intercom next time! Perhaps when the blank Costa logo screensaver is showing (on the intercom pole) it could also show instructions not to move forward until ordered and this may save others from this mistake.

The staff are friendly enough but thatās where the good ends sadly if you use the order ahead system. No where does it say on the app that they just dump it on a shelf right inside the door where everyone has to walk past both in and out.
Having first gone to the drive thru to, after queuing in line, be abruptly told āno you have to come in store for that.ā So slightly annoyed I went into store and due to the complete lack of prominent signage joined the queue, again. 25 minutes after they were made (and 20 minutes after arriving at the store) I get told by an equally unhelpful person that they are over there in the shelf! So people would have passed inches from them. No protection, no screen and importantly not Covid secure! I will not be using this store again and will return to my normal Alver...

We saved time pre ordering on the app only to be told after waiting 20 minutes in the drive through we have to collect our order in store... A friend goes in store to grab the drinks and theyāve lost the receiptš. The two flat whites looked and tasted like night and day.
