Seven Dials Cafe Dont Bother, as rude as they come. In times where tourism should be welcomed and as tourists we were happy to spend they were just rude. They kept us waiting and stated a minimum spend if you wanted to sit in. We agreed as we enjoy the cream teas there. We had a young child who only wanted a drink and then other 4 adults agreed we would all spend the minimum of £7.00. Because the child didnt want anything to eat they said we werent spending enough. Well Done Cockington Court. At a time when we were willing to spend not only did you make us wait in an empty room but insisted a child who wasnt hungry spent £7.00. Your a joke. You did without and we were happy to buy our cream teas elsewhere. You will never have business from us again. I frankly hope you suffer greatly from this pandemic and cease trading so somebody with a good attitude can take over and build a tidy...
Read moreVisited 'out of season'. On the plus side it wasn't too busy but on the minus side some of it was closed. There are walks around the area and a garden to do anytime of the year. The craft outlets were mostly open with some lovely things to buy. We abandoned tea and cake at the cafe in the house as it seemed to be in chaos. A festive horse and carriage was taking Santa for trips around the garden which brightened things up. Worth a visit in or out of season depending how busy you like it. P.S. Have now visited in summer and had a pleasant afternoon. I particularly liked the cafe serving cream teas, quaintly old fashioned- freshly baked scones, etc....
Read moreI love this place. Having visited around 15 times over the past 10 years. It has changed over time with numerous craft shops appearing in the Court rooms & multiple stores at the rear. The gardens and rose garden at the rear are well worth a tour. There’s a small church to the side of the Cockington Court which is traditional and beautiful inside. The cricket pavilion at the front is always a great place for picnics, or sitting on the slope to watch a cricket match or all the games taking place during good weather. The trees located throughout the Court are superb, well established and make great shade during hot weather. There used to be a horse and cart that would take you down to the Court from the entrance but may have stopped since Covid. Well worth a visit if and when in Torquay &...
