Visited with my wife on Saturday whilst down in the area for a Wrexham AFC football match and what a way to start the visit. Had the cream tea. The scone was warm and just melted in your mouth. The jam, homemade I believe was absolutely delicious and add clotted cream and what can I say. One of the best, if it the best, cream tea I can remember having. A bakewell tart slice on the side, OK I'm a pig, was also quality. Looking at other food served we will definitely be back to try it out. Having not long eaten the cream tea just sat nicely but would have loved to have tried what was on offer. Add the lovely gentleman who served with a smile and a brilliant choice when in Cockington. Give it a try. I also found the price to be fair very reasonable. You may think, one scone, but it was a big scone, I've had many cream teas with two scones and both together didn't match the size of this one alone, and paid a lot more.Right amount of Jam and cream served as well. Although I could eat clotted...

I come here every time I visit Devon for my first and last cream tea of my holiday. Its kind of a tradition. The location is wonderful and quiet and beautiful. The tea shop itself is in a lovely courtyard and has quite a lot of space but will get busy at peak times. Toilets are available.

The tea is served in fine china cups and saucers which adds a bit of charm to the place. The scones are fresh and I believe baked onsite. They also serve a range of cakes but cream tea is where it's at. My one gripe about the place is that they now serve jam in tiny pre packed jars rather than local produce. I understand this is to prevent wasps being attracted to your table which it seems to stop. For me though I would rather a proper pot of jam and put up with the wasps. This aside it's one of THE best tea shops in Devon and I have tried a lot of them!

Go there. Try it out and you will enjoy it.

But take a few spare pounds for parking (£1 per hour)as there are no...

Dog-friendly, there’s even a menu for the dog! Our dog had the pup cake which I think had cream cheese topping, it did not last long. The cheese scones with butter were suitably cheesy and warm so the butter melted. Good size tasty caramel latte, and my wife had the cream tea with scones, the s ones come with clotted cream and a choice of of their own made jams. Very nice. Seating is all outside in a lovely partially covered garden / courtyard area, the service was top notch even though they were busy. The only downside is it was maybe a little pricey for what we had, but it’s in that sort of chocolate box village tourist-type area where you kind of expect that, and it’s likely what they need to make a living. I’d rather that than they charge too little and don’t make enough for it to be worthwhile continuing....

Lived local all my life and never been in here, bank holiday weekend and was quiet around cockington , amble up the road being a chilly east breeze and hazy, we popped in here and had a cream tea and carrot cake Choice of plain or fruited scones , and when it came out , it was fresh and best of all warm , smelt divine ,( that good it almost seemed a shame to put cream and jam on it) best scone I have ever had , nice tea , pot held around 2 and a half cups along with a water and the carrot cake was about £12 Money well spent , not overly expensive considering the surroundings, some great looking food coming out , well presented and amount You pay £3-4 for a supermarket sandwich Would recommend anyone going for a walk around cockington especially in the pleasant weather to pop in We certainly will be back
