Overall, a great day...brilliant for kids of all ages- fantastic outdoor equipment, amazing indoor soft play and plenty of benches and seating throughout the farm. Good value day out. My only criticism was the staff- we were greeted by a receptionist who wasn't very friendly as we were 10 minutes early and made an issue of this, rather than just asking us to politely to wait she reluctantly let us in but kept reminding us it's not what she should be doing. When ordering food, i asked what types of fillings there were and the member of staff just swivelled the monitor around and asked me to read off her till! I then waited 45 minutes for a burger and chips and snack boxes for the littles ones...which when it arrived...there was no apology for the wait. Staff looked rushed off their feet with no one in charge. It was so busy in the cafe there was no order of which end to queue so might be worth having an in and out queue during busy times. Lastly staff in the animal barn were so unfriendly. My little one wanted to hold a rabbit and when i asked if this was ok, i was abruptly told no and to come back in 30 minutes. Maybe some signs to let us know when handling times are? There are some chalk boards in the animal barn....some children had drawn on the walls rather than the board itself so staff were wiping this off the walls when we got there. My little one (drawing on the black board) told me that she doesnt think the staff like her drawings, to which the member of staff replied- no we don't! That was the last straw for me, either these need to be taken down if you don't want kids using them or make it bigger for kids of all heights to reach. Overall, amazing day out...just think staff need to be...
Read moreWhat a fantastic place! It's absolutely huge and there's so much going on over there and it looks like there's going to be even more!
We started today with feeding animals, all of them looked clean and happy and wasn't worried about our toddler feeding them as they were so gentle while taking the food out of our palms, we then moved outside and both 12 and 3 yr old found something for themselves, beautiful sounding music instruments, little wooden playhouses, ride ons, 2 massive jumping pillows, obstacle course and a zip wire. Toilets, bins and some handwashing stations available and even some animal pens aswell outside. The only thing we thought that is missing some benches to sit would be great and a mat connecting with a jumping pillow for the kids so they don't have to walk with their socks on a sand when going for a jump.
We finished outdoor playing on another playground at the top of a slope by the cafe which again was perfect, lots of climbing ropes and frames, nice swing and really cool wooden train with lots of activities on it, some tables near by.
We had some lunch inside but after didn't manage to use soft play and this really big wooden playground but it looked really good, this is going to be our regular place to visit so definitely trying these out next time!
We had lovely few hours there, contact and help was amazing before our arrival this morning and staff on site was brilliant - thank you! It was worth the drive from Cardiff and we had the best weather today which was a bonus, can't wait for more spring/summer days in here!
Congratulations Colliers Adventure Farm on your new adventure and fabulous...
Read moreYou might miss the junction if your Google maps is like mine as it just suddenly said turn left but it's definitely somewhere not to be missed! Colliers is well laid out with multiple play areas outside as well as a large wooden play area and sand pit inside. The toilets are unisex but they also have "little loos" for children as well as low sinks, hand driers and paper dispensers. The animals were well cared for and the staff knowledge about them all. Whilst there isn't disabled parking marked out it is possible to park close to the door if you can get a space. All of the outside had ramps with limited steps found on site, where they were a lift wasn't far away. The play areas were well thought out although in the light drizzle we had on our visit left some of the outdoor wooden play areas were a little slippery at times. The indoor play areas were well thought out with plenty to occupy active children. Both inside play area's required no shoes and had seating nearby. The site has mag locks on entry and exit which is lovely to see and the staff were amazing! The only slight downside were the outside toilets down near the jumping pillows were locked but this might have been due to the ongoing drizzle of rain. Whilst the jumping pillows weren't up when we visited they looked good fun. The food in the cafe was really good quality and they had plenty of options including a wide range of gluten free and vegan cakes. Fingers crossed that next time we book to visit, we'll have better weather but regardless of that it was worth the visit for the sandy play cove, the indoor play area, lovely staff...
