I wish I met the man living in that caravan and have a chat with him as I find it intresting to meet people from all over, however it was in the spring, weather was not great, not alot of people about and I don't think he was home☹️ but maby next time😊 most deffenatly a place to visit, Inverness and Loch Ness, I did not meet Nessie either but trust me it's a place well worth a visit or a few, the Highlands just a drive away and lots of nice scenery! I recommend to bring o good camera as its beautiful and magical, lots of nice people! I stayed at the best Western and it was a really nice one as usual for the price you are paying and the food you get at best Western i would allways like to put an extra star, lovely breakfast aswell as food as usual, like I allways said after first visit I want to go again if I have money it's well spent! And if you do some driving around the area you have that gorgeous bridge from Harry Potter just south of Inverness and the Highlands are just amazing, like medecine for your heart and soul 100%peace of mind, just lovely even if it's raining or no sun its great!!! Mind you there are allso some great bnb overlooking Loch Ness that I would love to stay at next time and just relax in the evening with a pair of binoculars cause you never know if you might get a look of Nessie as loch Ness is so deep it's impossible to rule out if there is a "Monster" or more likely a very old sea creature that literally can come and go aswell as Loch Ness is connected to the sea and its to deep to explore and rule out its real or a myth... Five out of five stars for sure and if I could put ten stars I would, I had a great...

🌊 The beach & views Wide, open, and stunning—perfect panoramic views across Loch Ness. Even on a busy summer’s day it feels calm and spacious, with a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to beat.
🚗 Getting there The drive in from Glencoe is half the magic—rolling rural roads, mountain views, and the kind of scenery that makes you want to pull over every five minutes for photos.
🏄 Activities I went paddleboarding here in August and, yes, the water was absolutely freezing (classic Loch Ness) but still and calm enough for one of the most relaxing paddles I’ve ever had. Hardly any boat traffic, just serenity on the water.
☕ Shore time Meanwhile, my missus and our baby stayed on shore, grabbed a cuppa from the little local café, and had a lovely, laid-back time watching the world go by. Great balance of adventure for me and relaxation for them.
Overall, Dores Beach is a gem—beautiful, peaceful, and perfect whether you’re paddling on the loch or sipping tea by the shore.
Would I come back? Absolutely—though maybe with a wetsuit next...
Read moreGorgeous wee beach 🏖️ quite near Inverness with toilets, parking and the most beautiful views. Fresh water beach on the banks of Loch Ness making a perfect place to swim, walk the dog, have a picnic, celebrate a birthday party, do some stand up paddle boarding etc. So quiet and peaceful and there’s even a Nessie hunter based there too. No food to buy actually on the beach but back up on the main road is a caravan if you’re after a coffee and a...
