Garthmyl Hall — Attraction in Great Britain

Garthmyl Hall is now our favourite place in the world. Julia is now our favourite person in the world.

This is the most breathtaking venue you will find. The package offer (2 nights/ 3 day stay) is unique and actually helped us feel calmer for the big day as we were able to spend time relaxing in the grounds the day before.

The hall is some of the finest interior and furniture that you will find. Each room is tastefully decorated to the highest standard. It is comparable to a five star hotel. A number of bedrooms have roll-top baths that lookout onto the countryside. A bath with a view!! The honeymoon suite is not the kind of suite we are use to in the UK. It is its own entity and too beautiful to describe. You just have to view it.

The dinning room, balloon and drawing room are particularly special with hand-painted ceilings and stunning features.

The cellar bar is an amazing entertaining space that makes you feel you are sitting in any cool bar around the world. The garden room is so beautiful and has the best selfie lighting ever!

The grounds Just when you think it cant get any better you step outside. So many areas, the lawns, the trees which are 100s of years old, the water feature, the swing, I could go on... but the walled garden...

The walled garden - is outstanding. You feel as though you are standing on French soil. The flowers and plants change with the season. (we went to the venue to view at different times of year). You truly have to be there to appreciate its beauty.

Then theres Julia, Andy and the rest of the team. They are the cherry on top of Garthmyl Hall.

Julia you are Garthmyl Hall. You are standout and we all loved you! (Family/ friends and wedding guests) It is your vision, talent, energy and drive that has made Garthmyl Hall what it is. You have blow us away with how clever, funny, calm and professional you are. You are beautiful on the inside and out. But most of all your warmth and kindness will stay in our memories of you. I haven’t met many people that have achieved what you have. You have really inspired us. We all felt at home at Garthmyl Hall.

ALL our guest were stunned by so many elements of the venue. You wont believe this but a number of people said they felt unwell before they arrived but felt better when they were around the beauty of the venue!!!

Andy - what a human-being. Nick, I, my family and many others fell in love with you. You are gentle and kind. Hardworking and appear to be able to do anything!!! You went the extra mile for us but this is clearly a reflection of your personality. We dont know how many people thank you but again you will stay in our hearts Andy. You are an amazing person.

Polly and ALL the other staff (including bar staff, day staff & cleaners). What an amazing team. Polly always replied to my stupid questions and always has a smile on her face. Nothing is too hard. All the other staff were so friendly and helpful. This is unique. I have stayed at many 4/5* hotels up and down the UK and I can honesty say I have never know this level of excellence in staffing.

Just cant believe our experience. Its what you dream of but dont think it really exist. It exist here!!

We got married at Garthmyl Hall in July and from the moment of booking we knew we’d made the right decision. We first saw Garthmyl over Zoom as we live in the UAE and it was a rainy day in January, but both of us had tears in our eyes when we saw the Walled Garden and just knew this was the place for us. Nothing was too much trouble in the planning stages and we visited in person a few times. Any request to visit was always accommodated and every time we went, we fell in love with Garthmyl that little bit more. Planning a wedding can be daunting but no question was too silly and no request or suggestion was too much trouble. Garthmyl knows their suppliers really well and all their recommendations were amazing.

Then came the day itself and it was just magical. Having the whole house to yourselves for the two nights is just such a great way to bring family and friends together and make the most of the weekend. We decided to do the décor ourselves, but on arrival Laura was on hand to help out and it only took a couple of hours then we could relax and enjoy. The house and gardens are so beautiful and immaculate, you really don’t need to do too much additional decoration anyway, just the tables and a few personal touches.

Laura was just amazing – the whole weekend she was on hand to help out with anything and everything. I didn’t have to think about anything on the day and anything we’d requested just happened. So many guests have commented that I was the most relaxed bride they’d seen and I definitely put that down to being able to completely trust Garthmyl with the smooth running of the day.

On that note, I have had so much feedback from guests on how incredible the venue was and how amazing the staff were. Everyone felt so well-looked after for the whole weekend; the staff were so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. A shout out to all our amazing suppliers as well! Many guests also said how many of these ‘country house’ wedding venues can look beautiful on the outside but can be quite dingy inside, so they couldn’t get over how every aspect of Garthmyl is pure perfection. The rooms are pristine and beautifully decorated. We would definitely recommend booking the boathouse as well, as it was such a special place to wake up in.

Overall, I can’t fully explain or describe how incredible this place is. It felt like a home for the weekend, rather than an impersonal wedding factory. Guests were in awe of how beautiful the house and gardens were and we felt like we were living in a movie all weekend. One thing that made it extra special was having our family dog Max there for the whole weekend! Everything runs like clockwork. The BBQ the night before was delicious and it was so great as we didn’t have to organize anything for that. It all just gets sorted for you and it’s one less thing to organize/think about. Garthmyl the perfect place for a party as well, with so many different spaces to use for cocktail hours or a photobooth (or even a secret after party down in the Cellar Bar). If you are thinking of booking, do it. You will have no regrets, only the best weekend of your lives.

When we say that we were blown away by every aspect of this place, it is not an exaggeration. We booked Garthmyl Hall with Julia to host our wedding, as soon as we drove up to the main hall we instantly knew we had found the most beautiful setting for such a special time. It takes your breath away. Around every corner & wall; inside and outside of this venue, there is something that you'll want to incorporate into your day/visit, everything has been super carefully thought out in an exquisite fashion. From the bright, summery, botanical orangery bar serving reception drinks to the atmospheric, intimate, hidden fun cellar bar housing the later night drinkers they have not missed any details! Aside from the unforgettable setting, we speak on behalf of each and every one of my guests and ourselves that the staff could not have done any more for us. Over the whole weekend the guests would continually comment on those extra miles that the staff went to make all the guests stay, even the guests that were not staying at the hall, as easy and smooth running as possible. Having worked in hospitality myself for many years I know how difficult it is to build such a content & caring team, but Garthmyl have smashed it in every way. Every room is as good as the next, those boutique, eclectic rooms will not be beaten I can assure you! We had all of the external rooms/homes rented out for more guest which are all incredible too. Just having the option of these to use was so so handy, I am surprised the staff managed to get rid of us all to be honest! My husband and I took the newly built Boat House to stay in, it wasn't built when we booked the wedding and what a spectacular surprise to see it! The decor is so luxurious & beautiful (i could have lived in that bath!), spacious, super comfy huge bed, and the positioning is perfect for a little hideaway. The two minute walk down the lit path surrounded by a wild flower meadow is an experience in itself! No job was too much for Garthmyl Hall. We had booked a BBQ for our pre wedding evening, all supplied, cooked and served by the staff at Garthmyl, along with a continental breakfast on the Wedding Day morning (oh my gosh those Biscoff Croissants) and a full English breakfast before our day after party. The quality and quantity of every extra booked went beyond what was expected, it was all amazing, served beautifully and so tasty. My last point needs to be the best. If like me you have spent months and months planning for the best day of your life, sleepless nights, stresses trying to get everything perfect, tweaking those finer details that everyone tells you no one will notice, to have the Garthmyl team to support me was honestly the best thing that could have happened. Their indescribable personable approach is something we will probably never come across in our lifetime again (unless we revisit!) I was wowed over and over again so id like to thank everyone at Garthmyl Hall.
