An Unforgettable Experience at Lindores Abbey Distillery – Spanish Tour with Lorena
We had the absolute pleasure of taking the Spanish tour at Lindores Abbey Distillery, led by the incredible Lorena — a talented whisky blender whose passion truly shines through in every word she speaks. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of outstanding.
Lorena captivated us with her enthusiasm and deep knowledge, making the entire tour easy to follow and incredibly engaging. She explained every detail in such a clear and accessible way, ensuring that everyone felt included and understood. She was always attentive, asking if we had any questions and making sure nothing was left unexplained.
One of the highlights was the whisky tasting session, where Lorena guided us through the art of tasting different whiskies. Her insights added so much depth to the experience and really helped us appreciate the craft behind every drop.
The professionalism and warmth of the entire team were exceptional. A special mention goes to how wonderfully welcomed our dog Lily was — not just by the staff, but also by Lorena herself. It truly made us feel at home.
Lorena’s passion for her job is contagious. It’s clear she loves what she does, and that love is reflected in the quality of the tour. She made the whole experience so comfortable, friendly, and memorable.
I would 100% recommend visiting Lindores Abbey Distillery, especially if you have the chance to join a tour with Lorena. Whether you’re a whisky expert or just curious, you’ll walk away inspired and impressed. A truly...
Read moreDog friendly Lindores Abbey Whiskey Distillery is incredible and well worth the visit!! We are staying at Duns on Holiday from Norfolk, and we went here due to being dog friendly. Staff were very friendly and approachable on our arrival. We booked our tickets in store. £15 per adult for the tour or free to look around the shop. We were early, so we had a walk around the Abbey having a read of the books and information in the Abbey and a look at the shop. We also had a drink whilst we waited for the tour. The tour guide Helen was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and informative. She gave us the history as well as a breakdown of how the whiskey is made. We got to walk around the distillery and see each part of the process. The dogs were allowed on the tour with us. After the tour, we had 2 of their own brands to try. I took mine home as I was the designated driver, and mine was given in a little bag with two shots to take home. My husband had his during the tour with everyone , and he thoroughly enjoyed being a Whiskey fan! We purchased two bottles to take home with us. We were also asked if our dogs could have a photo to add to the doggy wall of fame. We are very pleased they are on the wall! The toilets were clean and tidy. Free to use. Plenty of parking. Clean environment. Can't miss as a Scottish dig statue outside. Honestly, it was a highlight of our holiday! Thank you to all the staff, especially when our dogs...
Read moreA splendid visit! We arrived later than expected to Dundee and had only one opportunity to visit this renowned distillery. We called in to try for a last minute reservation, Mrs. McKenzie was very understanding and encouraged us to come in for a visit. When we arrived the distillery was a buzz with Easter activities for the little ones, a busy place indeed. Much to our surprise Mr. Drew McKenzie, the owner no less, was kind enough to give our group a tour of his distillery. Very much a family business feel.
The distillery is a work of art with modern equipment but the distillation process very much a homage to the old ways. Being a whiskey lover I have to say I did get chills down my back seeing the casks of what will be the first whiskey produced at Lindores in centuries.
Evidence of Mr. McKenzies, and his family's, enthusiasm and passion are present everywhere we went. From the distillery to the cafe and around to the gift shop perfectly done, obvious was the extra care shown to preserve and honor the history of the Abbey.
So with my glass of aqua vitae held high I wish slàinte and good fortune to the McKenzies. Hoping to return for a dram when whiskey flows again...
