Absolutely brilliant day out, farm a short walk from the car park, we then walked along to the park and cafe, kids had an absolute ball and I genuinely didn't have enough time to explore it's full potential but what I did see was fantastic. However what I heard from staff today was very sad, they have stated that due to the lack of donations to the farm that they probably will have to close next year this is just so sad the farm is brilliant and home to many different animals, now there is meant to be a charge of £2 to get out of muiravonside so basically to visit it a £2 charge and this should have sustained the revenue needed to keep the farm up and running however due to technical difficulties the barriers that you pay at dont work correctly and you can actually leave without paying but in that it means that the revenue isn't being made, I think for what they do and the animals they have within the farm and then the park and various paths that a small donation of £2 isn't that tasking to pay, so I ask if when you visit muiravonside country park please pop a small donation into the donation boxes and help them keep the farm up...
Read moreOur first time visiting but we will be back. The farm was better than we expected, we spent longer there than we'd planned. The playgrounds are aimed at slightly younger children but my 10 year old still enjoyed the zip line and taller slide. I thought the cafe was very reasonably priced compared to other cafes like it, with a decent vegan range. The cafe staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilet facilities near the cafe were clean with a separate accessible toilet. There is plenty of parking with overflow car parks but I would advise to get their early on busier weekends with better weather as it did still get quite busy on the overcast Sunday we visited. It's not very clear how to pay for parking but just drive to the exit and pay there, ANPR wasn't working when we visited so a council worker taking contactless parking fee...
Read moreA very nice park with lots of interesting things to see. There's lots of paths to walk and many have wooden obstacles for the kids to play on. The paths are a mixture of concrete, gravel and grass, it can be muddy in places. There's a café, although, it's closed because of Covid. There's a decent amount of parking which normally costs £1, however, is free just now, again, due to Covid. There's a great we farm you can walk round and see the animals, some of it is closed off just now but you can still see the majority of the animals, this is free. You can walk along to the Avon Aqueduct, done to the old mill or the family cemetery. There's lots to see on top of the beautiful woodland walk. Next to the old stables/café there's a decent sized play park for the kids. I would highly recommend it. You can spend an hour or...
