Flamborough Head Lighthouse is an active lighthouse located at Flamborough, East Riding of Yorkshire.
The current lighthouse was built in 1806 and acts as a waypoint for deep sea vessels and coastal traffic as well as marking the Flamborough Headland for vessels heading for the ports of Scarborough and Bridlington.
A pay and display car park is situated next to the lighthouse and have abundant parking space.
If possible try and get a tour of lighthouse to understand the full history. For family of 4 its 17.2£ but totally worth it. we were given a very interesting informative tour by a lovely lady who knew all about lighthouses.
Lighthouse is open till 3.30 on weekends so be there on time.
Lovely 5 minute stroll from the lighthouse and you can to see a seal colony chilling on the beach near drinking dinosaur.

Read morethis place has great potential and outs much better since undergoing a refurbishment, however the food offering is poor quality which is a shame. Visited twice during our stay at Thornwick Bay and both times the food quality was poor, the sausages on the breakfast must be the cheapest possible and they taste more like stuffing than sausage, the panini too was poor, I would say to the management, you would be far better off if you offered better quality food and put the price up to reflect this. we would have come back more during our stay but this prevented us.
