I go walking through Quarry Bank (National Trust Land) most days either before or after work the latter being to wind down! It is such a peaceful setting. There are lots of trails and sometimes you can walk for an hour or so without seeing anybody else. The scenery is sometimes quite spectacular and the wildlife is exceptional. I must admit that the only time I have been in QBH is for a wedding reception so there is not much I can say about it. There are lots of staff who are extremely helpful and there is a coffee shop and an ice cream parlour which incidentally serves Vegan Ice Cream - a big plus for me being a Vegan!! Upstairs not open for public to view as staircase apparently not up to coping with visitor numbers, must be the tramping of all those 13 kids of theirs over the years, ha.
