Southside MAN Viewing area — Attraction in Great Britain

Some of the reviews state that parking is available at Airport Hotel ...This is incorrect as that refers to Northside... The southside is NOT an "official " designated viewing area ...Parking is extremely limited to the verge/roadside and can take no more than a handful of cars .... Access is down a dirt pathway which is overgrown in summer and a quagmire in winter ...Its about a 150m walk . Area opens to a small raised bank which runs along the perimeter fence. There are NO FACILITIES whatsoever. So please go...

Brilliant spot for plane spotting so long as the planes are taking off in the right direction. From the grassy embankment you are unable to see the planes landing however you do see them taxiing off of the runway. Taking off however, the planes wait directly in front of you making for incredible photo opportunities. There is a small car parking area approximately 10 minutes walk from the viewing area where cars can be left for free. Would...

Fantastic views of the runways and Apron at Manchester airport, even if just one runway is being used can still see both incoming and out coming planes.

Parking can be scarce at the entrance to the woodland path that leads to the viewing spot but parking at the Airport hotel is just a little walk down the road and is £2.50 for 4 hours and not much more for 6 hours!
