We came here by train from Glaisdale where we are staying in a pub. Our friends had stopped by this fun cafe and thought we’d like it so they texted us and we came over. We did like it. A lot. Ordered the £35 special which was 2 pizzas, salad and wine for which we substituted a couple of beers. The pizzas were the “smoky” which had a sauce of creamy horseradishy white bbq sauce, smoked chicken, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. We also had the “blue”-tomato sauce, blue cheese, walnut, prosciutto, honey and figs. Their sourdough crusts are precooked and frozen, but are actually good because of the flavor of the sourdough. The toppings were fabulous. We were generously supplied with a lightly (and perfectly) dressed salad of mixed greens, fig, walnut, cooked winter squash, & artichoke hearts which we also happily devoured. Read moreI find myself having to somewhat defend the Gallery from a somewhat shallow review, based on negativity alluring to the fact of a lack of coffee drinking facilities ... truth is there is a coffee machine there, however ... the Gallery itself is filled with artistic charm and elegance, unusual art but tastefully and skillfully executed. The paintings and ceramics are high quality and hand fashioned ... and therein lies the cost. Future treasures are to be found here, by local artists. Not your usual junk...

Grosmont is a lovely village in a beautiful location and The Gallery B&B was a great say. at £80 a night it was one of the more expensive places I stayed. However, it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was well cooked and very generous and the rooms were immaculate.
