Fantastic day out with a 6 & 4 yr old! Staff were all lovely, no charge for children under 16 and only £5 per adult for all day entry. Really good mixture of things to look at and also things to press/pull/pump for the little (and big) ones. Really lovely setup and I'm pleased that we were able to support them. Cafe was excellent, very reasonably priced and the food was superb and all freshly made. We will happily visit again!

This place is something else Staffed by volunteers who are so very helpful and more importantly willing to share their knowledge It's a must do if you are visiting the area Also get on the miniture railway for a ride round the park.. While we were there the boating pool was in use and wow some of the model boats remotely controlled were just wonderfully constructed.. Photos attached.

Visited on a steam day. Fascinating collection of water pumps in action. My friends and I showed an interest in the workshop, which was locked ,and a volunteer opened it for us. Amazing visit.

Well worth a visit! Bit of a shame its only open Tuesday and Sunday but bearing in mind it's run by volunteers, not surprising. An absolute wealth of information and people who are more than willing to stand and chat about the various pumps.

Make a beeline for the café. THE best Victoria sandwich I've EVER had! All thr cakes are homemade and it shows! Not at all expensive to get in and an easy way to while away both a wet and dry day. Plenty of interactive exhibits to keep younger (& older!)...

An interesting museum, especially on steam days when the engines are working. There are a few interactive exhibits to play with. Most of the museum is accessible to people with mobility issues although the ground outside is uneven. The only downside was the catering. There's a small cafe that serves drinks and light refreshments. The filled rolls and cakes were ok, but the...
