A very scenic place for a quick tour. The beach was clean. Nature reserve beside the beach also nice a stroll and picnic. Also the high cliff castle and the canteen beside the castle is excellent for lazy afternoon. Canteen was not seen any hot food menu but lots of cake and ice creams to choose from. Canteen has clean Toilets. The steamer point also has public toilet and shower. Car parking cost was £3 for two hours via pay by phone app. There was enough space when I visited but parking was surely limited. I saw a sign for overflow parking area nearby. Lots of beach hug on the beach front probably can be hired. Cafe facilities were there on the beachfront seems popular from the queues.

This is a simple pleasure, and if you have never been before, a delight to wander through and discover. There are grand views, secret old places, twisting paths and at the far end, Highcliffe Castle and the promise of coffee and cakes.

Nice small walk through a wooded area overlooking the coast. Parking can get very busy during high season (alternative is Highcliffe castle for parking). Easy access to the beach - turn to the left for the dog friendly bit 😁

The nature reserve has the benefit of a small building that contains wall plaques and murals of the local wildlife, the surrounding wooded area is untouched and a small lake gives home to the waterborn insect life. A bug hotel and a couple of log seats give school classes the opportunity to study. Use of the car park is the main reason people visit, there is a very small park area with a couple of picnic tables that has a great view over the Solent to the Isle of Wight, a small monument tells of the sites use as the first radar tracking station and subsequent use as a communications tracking base during the years of the Cold War, a path leads down to the sandy beach and promenade leading to Mudesford Quay that has beach huts on the cliff side and a very good beach cafe about three hundred yards from the...

Great place for walking including adults and children of all ages; pathways are wide and flat and can accommodate mobility of wheelchairs. There are a number of access points from the nature reserve on to the beach. Parking is plentiful just outside the gate entrance, or inside the castle ground, but payment is required. There is a cafe in the castle serving snacks and hot/cold drinks. The castle was re-opened in March 2018 following a big refurbishment and is well worth a visit - small charge for entry. A great family day out, no matter what the weather - fully recommend this...
