I visited the Isle of Wight Steam Railway while on holiday in the area. Old engines and carriages. Two price levels: 1st and 3rd class. Stops allowed time to get out and take photographs. Gentle journey chugging through woods and fields. Basic self-service catering available in the cafe at the main stop, Havenstreet. Spend a couple of hours here or all day. With a longer visit you can see the museum and eat in the restaurant. Easy link from Smallbrook junction mainline station. Times seemed to synchronise well for changing between lines. We missed this crucial info when we booked our Heritage railway day last minute - lovely quiet ride from Ryde but had to continue cycling to Haven Street to get onboard heh!
Day out was great anyway, Heritage trains can take bicycles, nice ride from Wootton with a refreshing pub stop.
