I didn't plan my trip. I just drove from my home in Scotland to the lake District because at the time that is where we had the most sun for the next few days. Not to be disappointed I landed at Rydal Hall. They have a fine campsite, coffee shop, maintenance block with hot showers, drinking water and a fridge and a place to wash up. The gardens are spectacular and very calm n quiet. Perfect for a couple of lazy days to unwind. The large estate grounds offer loads of walks for those who want to do that. The grounds are amazing and surprisingly free to wander, although donations are welcome. The grot and waterfall are such an inspiring spot, and the woodland walk is full of hidden sculptures and creative artwork that make it really special.
We always finish off with a hot drink and a slice of cake from the tearoom where the staff are friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend...
