Great course ruined by one rude member of staff.
We booked online to play 18 holes on the weekend, our first time visiting the club. On arrival we noticed a sign saying 'cash only, card machine not working'. We signed in with the Pro in the pro-shop who couldn't have been less helpful. Told us the only way we could pay was to go into town to get cash out. Around 20 minutes later the same Pro served who another customer (who I assumed was a regular member) with a card machine. All seemed a little dodgy and left us with a horrible first impression of the club.
Luckily things picked up after teeing off the first. The golf course itself was really fun with lots of challenging holes despite its short total length. The overall condition of the greens and fairways was pretty good considering the cost of the green free.
The staff in The View restaurant were super friendly and apologetic after messing up our food order.
I'd come back again to play the course if we didn't have to encounter the rude Pro in the pro-shop. After reading more reviews it seems we were not the only ones who had...
Read moreI love this course for the same reason everyone does, the 18th! Having said that I recently had a very disappointing experience there. Admittedly it was a sunny Good Friday and anyone would expect it to be busy, but two and a half hours to play 9 holes is not acceptable. We had to abandon our game early. We complained in the pro shop and said we'd seen two groups of 5 out on the course and said there was a group of 6 coming down the 18th. The two people in the pro shop could not haved cared less, blaming "The Council" and saying there was nothing they could do. There would be no refund or opportunity to finish our round another day. Pace of play is so important to an enjoyable round but on this occasion we were let down by poor...
Read moreNice course, but bar and restaurant close very early. Haven't played seaford head for over ten years, so club house and pro shop all new. Course is in good condition and greens kept nicely. We tee'd off at half one on a lovely Saturday afternoon. By the time we were back the bar and restaurant were closed and we had to move out cars from the car park as they were locking up! Couldn't sit and have a drink and chat after the round which was disappointing.
On the 15th green (adjacent to the coastal path) found a family of four playing football.... On the 18th tee found a lady sunbathing on a beach towel, who looked very put out when we asked to her to move! Am sure the greenkeeper gets annoyed with the unwanted...
