Ok I went here yesterday around 6pm to 630pm with my family. We left are car in the car park. When we went inside. We saw a van coming down the path way towards the gate. I said to someone oh where is the van going they said you can travel down the road under the bridge. I said they is a low gate there. The person said yeah they can pull it to one side. I thought you couldn't. So we travel on inside the park. When we came back to go to the car at 730pm park. The gates they were locked. I said that van was going down to the low gates to closed the gates but it says the gates are open to 8pm in certain months of the year. The van did not have the details of Croxteth County Park on the sides of the van. If it did. Do you not think, we would have said to them are you closing the gates it's only 630pm not 8pm whenwe saw the van. We had to find other way out to get back to the car park before they closed the gates at 8pm. Well we don't know the woods in Croxteth Park. Some person was climbing up next to bridge. Which takes you on the other side of the bridge, to the car park. Well we had to walk past the playground until we came to other set of gates locked. Well lucky we were able to get throw the railings. Which took us onto the road. Which we had to walk all the way down and then go left on another road. Which we walked until the main gates. Where the car park what's is wrong with you. Why closed those sides gates where the car park is. When it's states on your main gates 8pm certain months, and certain times for Autumn and Winter. We did not see any signs on the gates under the bridge. This person in the van saw us coming from direction of the car park. Why not say anything that ge was closing the...
Read moreI visited one of the Halloween events at Croxteth Hall Liverpool with my daughter and three grandchildren. We have visited Croxteth Hall several time, over a number of years. Every time we visit we see something new and with the excellent help[ of the volunteers who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to help make these visits so special for us. Today was brilliant not only did we experience the thrill of the Halloween tour finding the letters to help the children complete the word quiz, located around the rooms. But assisted by excellent and very knowledgeable volunteers, dressed as maids, who took us on a wonderful and journey explaining and offering fact that brought the house and its passed inhabitants alive. My grandchildren loved the experience and were excited to follow and listen to the women maids as they unfolded the past to the children. My grandchildren said they enjoyed the event and especially the maids stories and information about the house and said they had learnt a lot. This is worth a visit and the volunteers are more than pleased to walk you through the rooms answering questions and offering stories. I can only say thank you for your time and the enjoyable day. These homes are part of our history it helps us understand the past and hope for the future, the stories and people who have lived in the homes offer us an excellent incite into past lives. These homes are under threat from government cuts, which in turn could mean closure for many we shouldn't allow our children's heritage to disappear please support your local Stately Home especially...
Read moreA beautiful place to explore if you actually go off the paths. Croxteth Hall Park has it all really. Fantastic for families, dog walkers and anybody really. There is a brilliant farm to enjoy and also get hands on with the animals, always something going on there. The meerkats and being able to feed them is an absolute treat. All the farm staff are fantastic and knowledgeable. The animals are very well looked after, friendly and lovely. If you're very lucky, in the spring, they usually have the most gorgeous piglets running about! It's cheap enough entry and you can purchase a bag of food to feed the animals too. I have never been in the hall, so I cant comment on that, but just watch Most Haunted, that will tell you lots! The childrens playground can get busy and could do with some more swings (my son is autistic, he will not get off to let others on without a meltdown). If you actually fully explore the grounds, there is so much to see and do, I can't really fit it all in! Great place to visit. You wont be disappointed for a cheap day out. TIP- take a packed lunch or some money for the cafe (that is reasonably priced), you will spend more time here than...
