Ashburton Park — Attraction in London

Fully wheelchair accessible, well-liked and nice local park - spacious, with good open grass areas, plenty of people exercising, children's playground, exercise machines, basketball hoops and court, two good quality tennis courts - recently refurbished - and an older tarmacked court. Lawn bowls and “Petanque” (or “boules”, as it is also known) play areas, plus a nice indoor cafe.

Beautiful trees and plants and plenty of wildlife. Nice children's play area, secured with lockable gates and railings to ensure safety. The bins can sometimes be full to overflowing, and some areas are regularly littered by lazy people, unfortunately.

Park gets rented out a lot by the council to travelling funfairs for weeks at a time, and there used to be occasional car boot sales here, along with local community event days.

Taught our children how to cycle here in complete safety. Could also rollerblade or skateboard the flat tarmacked areas.

The park itself was very lovely and I had a lot of things to do at the time we visited. Ed, there was a fanfare on which was a wristband funfair 10 pounds for a standard wristband. Ashburton Park is a beautifully maintained neighborhood gem, perfect for leisurely strolls, picnics, or energetic play.
