The Saucy Sausage — Restaurant in London

After being a regular customer at the saucy sausage café I was sorely disappointed when I was treated to what I can only describe a very bad experience with some very disgusting food.. Normally I would visit the café for breakfast and have had many a nice pleasant breakfasts.. But one Sunday I decided to try something different so I ordered chicken in cream of mushroom sauce with rice and salad... when it arrived the plate was swimming in a horrid packet mix sauce served with curry rice how this is meant to go with a cream of mushroom sauce I have no idea as I was expecting nice fluffy white rice and at best the rice tasted old as well as a horrid over powering powered taste ...However the salad was fresh but laced with mozzarella cheese another combo I would not mix with curry and cream of mushroom I took a couple of mouthfuls and could not stomach the mismatched flavours.. I told my disappointment to the waitress who's reply was your be surprised what people will eat ...and this helps me how ... I was still charged full price for a meal I did not eat with no sorry or any notice taken of my complaint if it comes with curried rice surly it should say so on the menu so I can decide if this is a flavour I wish to eat with my cream of mushroom sauce.. I have not been back since .... what ever happened to good customer...

Absolutely lovely little cafe! After a bad experience in the tram stop cafe with the staff (not their food) my family and I decided to walk down to Saucy Sausage where as always they didn't disappoint! The young male waiter (dark hair) went above and beyond to get some extra treats for my daughters hot chocolate from the shops (cream and Marshmallows) she was so happy 😊 We love it here and it's our go to Addiscombe cafe for English...

The food quality was about what I expected from the outside - not great, too greasy for me to finish my whole breakfast. But the prices were pretty extreme in my opinion. Cost me about £9 to get an English breakfast with extra hash browns that was mostly grease and a banana milskahe that was banana Nesquik with a scoop of ice cream in it. Also a staff member's young child kept running around yelling. Wasn't impressed, won't be...
