I've been waiting for the CCA to open it's door for ages and finally today I went to visit. The space is impressive, utilizing what used to be a public laundry and pump house for the pool next door. It's a huge building, and quite shielded from view from the main road the runs through New Cross. The first exhibition is a solo work by Mika Rottenberg, whose use of the space is great - not cluttered, leaving room to breath and interpret the meaning of her work. Read moreRecently visited for the Tony Cokes exhibition which I feel was very well curated, and with three floors of works, it did do justice to Tony Cokes' brilliant work.
This is a superb gallery space -- it's been really thoughtfully restored -- a beautiful industrial space with plenty of unique quirks. The tasteful refurbishment makes for quite a special experience.
There's adequate space in each room for an exhibition to really breathe. There's seating in each room and there's good facilities -- lifts, toilets, etc. I really enjoyed my time in this gallery and I have high hopes they continue putting on great...
