Wow! Wow! & Wow!!! How things have changed in the last year! After so many years we now have a new playground! And what a hit it has been with parents and our end users....our children. Now more than ever I meet new young families who've moved into the area. So many things have been slowly improving due to the constant engagement by local members of our community. You will see where we started a few years ago by the review I wrote.... But I can honestly say you should come visit your local park. Get involved with our seasonal activities. Bowls, use the tennis court, fast walk the perimeter, walk the dog...yoga! Get involved and enjoy. The rest I leave below untouched (for historical reference) see you in the park. It is a lovely park with great potential to be a fantastic park and public space. Appreciated by the local community, it is a favourite with local dog owners ... The park has a family of rare albino squirrels, I have yet to spot them... Edited (I have now seen one of the white squirrels... A very healthy big fat squirrel which stands out when foraging on the ground under the fallen leaves of Autumn. Quite beautiful!) Cutbacks in local government plus change of status of the park to wood has allowed the Croydon council to bypass Grangewood Park with funding. It has just had an outdoor gym installed a few months back. As welcome as that is, it would have been far better if they had refurbished the children's playground first. The parents and local park association have been pleading for years. I have been living next to the park for 5 years now. Parents make there way to other parks so as to let there children have some decent play time in a proper playground. It really is very sad. Saying that, we have been told that there is something going to happen soon??? We can only...

What a pleasant experience i had yearerday when i visited this park yesterday! Wow. Clean air. Basketball and tenjis courts and new gtm equipment to be used all for dree. I was amazed. It is a very big park with areas dor romantic walks with beautiful flowers and benches but also workout area.ita overlooking thornton heath and has amazing view feom above. I found myself a park where i can go every day. Perfect dor jogging and if u have a dog he will have plenty of space to play. IM AMAZED😊 Years later I keeo going to this park and feed birds and friendly squirrels enjoying the beautiful sunsets .best park in the area. This year council didnt invest in this park sadly barely any flowers and non trimmed overgrown grass. Still my...

Grangewood park is a tragic little place. The park is beautiful and it would have been amazing to see in its glory days. 0 investment from government means it is now very run down. I understand there is an heroic local volunteer group, but the task is monumental without some care and investment from the council. The new play ground is great but it is already showing sings of wear and missuse without follow up resources in place. The worst part about the park is the amount of massive dogs, which owners dont pick up after and sometimes let run free off leads. I try bringing my small kid here and instead of being enjoyable it is tense with all the dogs and...

Very nice little park, friendly people and lots of dog walkers - but not too crowded which can be a nice change from other locals like Crystal Palace and Dulwich. Has a wild feel because of the longer grass and foliage and trees, is woody, but not darkened by a thick tree canopy like Sydenham/Dulwich woods. It’s small and one side has a busy road but the fencing is solid and unbroken so no need for a lead if you have a dog. Also quite hilly, so despite its size it gives you a good strenuous walk. Parking is great - residential streets all around with no restrictions!

Absolutely love Grangewood Park! This is a hidden gem in the heart of South London. The park is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of nature — perfect for families, joggers, and anyone who wants to escape the city noise. There’s a lovely playground for kids, plenty of benches to relax, and the walking paths are clean and wide. It feels safe and welcoming at all hours. A truly underrated park that deserves more attention!
