Hampton Court Park (Home Park), England
I was absolutely impressed and mesmerized by Hampton Court Park (Home Park). This expansive 750-acre park is a haven of natural beauty and tranquility. Walking through the vast open spaces, surrounded by ancient trees and serene water features, felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat far removed from the bustle of everyday life.
The Long Water Canal, stretching elegantly through the park, took my breath away with its reflections of the sky and surrounding greenery. The sight of deer grazing freely in the meadows added a magical touch to the experience, making it feel like a scene out of a storybook.
With the cool weather, the park became even more inviting. It was the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll, a quiet moment of reflection, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature. The combination of crisp air, peaceful surroundings, and stunning views made every step feel refreshing and inspiring.
Hampton Court Park truly left a lasting impression on me. It’s not just a park; it’s a place where nature’s beauty and history come together to create a remarkable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a serene and breathtaking escape near London.
This season is ideal for leisurely walks, picnics under the trees, or a relaxed bike ride. The cooler temperatures make outdoor activities more enjoyable and less tiring, while the natural beauty of the park shines in its own way during...
Read moreExtremely disappointed to find out that at the moment the only way in and out of the park surrounding Hampton Court Palace, which is free to visit, is the entrance near Hampton Wick War Memorial / Kingston Bridge - All other exits on the Hampton Court Road are absurdly shut! This means walking for a few miles before reaching the closed gate of ticketed Hampton Court Palace and being unable to leave the park walking around the Palace since you have water on your left that you cannot cross, nor from your right since all exists are shut, without walking all the way back down to that same entrance we came in from! It is also not indicated anywhere at that gate that there is no other way to leave the park than to walk back there! And Hampton Court Road is a dangerous road with lots of traffic, no pavement for pedestrians and a very narrow cycle lane… We nearly missed our train with the extra detour to come back the way we came from as Google map is also not up to date, so it shows you can get through the park coming from Kingston to reach Hampton Court Station even if incorrect… Not impressed, would have expected better from the curators of such a...
Read moreProbably the best park in Greater London. Just off the hustle and bustle of Kingston Bridge if you’re coming from that side, this huge park is very quiet and calming. Be sure to walk right into the park and it feels like you’re almost on your own in miles of wilderness. There’s plenty of wildlife including deer, birds of prey and water fowl.
There’s a few bodies of water and the Long Water is spectacular, which offers undisrupted views of Hampton Court Place. Hampton Court Golf Club is also well nestled within the park and it has a clubhouse offering food and a full bar (even for non members). There are also entries and exits near Ravens Ait, opposite The Albany pub in Thames Ditton and nearby Hampton Court Gardens. A fantastic park, which I highly recommend.
Not sure why the opening hours say it’s closed some days. It’s always open dawn until dusk on all days...
