This place is finally wheelchair friendly thanks to the efforts of everybody who funded the lift into the museum! The lift fits one person and a powered wheelchair/wheelchair. The disabled toilet is outside and located by the other toilets. It's a surprisingly spacious toilet so I was quite impressed! My partner volunteers here so he was part of the team to get the lift in ♡ If you are trying to get here via wheelchair I'd suggest taking a car but I had to take public transport which was quite difficult. Lots of walking up to the museum so be warned there's quite a long road - This is if you are taking public transport. The car park getting into the museum is absolutely enormous and goes right under the motorway. Plenty of spaces! The refreshment staff are absolutely lovely please treat them with respect as they work so hard! Everybody here is a volunteer and deserves so much love and respect. This place is also very child friendly and there is lots to do for kids especially those who...

But I was not very happy as there was not much to do no bathroom for a child to go to as well. Maybe they should find someone who could invest in their idea and make it more enjoyable for kids. They also make a small activity for kids with paper, glitter and stickers but you need to pay...
Read moreI visited the Pump House and the Railway. Both are interesting in their own way.
The railway is destined to be a great attraction in coming years. It's volunteers have achieved a lot in recently.
The newly signed agreement with Thames Water, site owners, will permit work to extend the railway in the near future (subject to local authority permission!).
The Pump House goes from strength to strength. The big engine is truly a giant and lovingly maintained. The turbine engine is not so impressive until it's pointed out that it's more powerful than the big engine! Having a second turbine engine opened up to show the inner workings...
