Good for sports. Football pitch and tennis courts look well maintained.
Otherwise, a sad, sad shadow of what it must previously have been.
More litter than I've ever seen in any park in any country. A real variety here.. sure, you get your crisp bags and cig boxes but there is also the serious stuff like sanitary towels. Didn't see any needles but I was trying not to look.
My partner swore never to return due to the litter, human and dog 'waste'.
A varied selection of street drinkers.. The staples are here.. Kestrel black etc. but also some classic wifey drinkers and even a few Festers tins.
I was surprised to see literally HUNDREDS of Red Bull empties. Not literally as in "And I'm not even joking" but actually evidenced.
This was originally a well landscaped park with a pond and great tree plantings.
There was even a bowling green and decorative walled gardens. These are still here and well maintained (to an extent) but ghostly empty as they are padlocked-off, sigh.
Nice to see the sports areas being used for Sunday football though.
There seems to be a council depot in the park with tractors and equipment. Maybe it serves the parks dept for other areas.. there's certainly not been any litter collection in this park for years and years.. some of the litter is faded and rusting, so just piles up.
I know it's not Hampstead or Stoke Newington but I was still shocked. Especially after researching the other...
Read moreIt's great to have green space on my doorstep. I go there for walks and roller skating mainly. ParkRun meet there for 5k runs on Saturday mornings.
There's a good children's play area, outdoor gyms, nature conservation spaces and fields for football, other sports and picnics.
What's letting it down is a severe lack of toilets. They've been locked for God knows how many years and no attempts to make it available even in the pandemic! It's really not a good look when it's a basic human need, not a luxury. Enfield Council please address this asap!
We need a cafe and plenty of benches/seating around the park.
It could do with a lot more lighting all over to make it safer at sun down. There are only lights at the carpark in front of the visitor's centre and the TFL cycle route (which runs across the middle of the park from Victoria Road to Sweet Briar Walk). A lot of paths could do with being maintained/fixed. The tennis and basketball courts are rough, neglected and in desperate need of resurfacing. Upgrading paths and courts will really help us skaters who lack spaces. It's a great park with lots of variety, just a little rough around the...
Read morePymees Park is a wonderful place to unwind and connect with nature. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape the urban jungle without leaving the city. Those who looking for a place to exercise, or just want to relax in nature, this park has something for everyone. Inside, you'll find a beautifully maintained ornamental pond, surrounded by herbaceous borders and vibrant bedding plants that create a colorful and calming atmosphere.
The wildlife in the park is another highlight. As I strolled through the garden, I was thrilled to see swans gracefully gliding across the pond, geese and ducks waddling around, and even some bright green parrots perched in the trees. The diversity of birds adds to the park’s charm and makes it a great spot for birdwatching or just relaxing by the water.
For families, there is a well-equipped playground that caters to children of different ages, and the sports facilities, including tennis courts, are a nice bonus. The park is also dog-friendly, so it’s a great spot to bring your furry friends.
I would definitely recommend a visit if you're...
