Im not sure where to begin with but in the following this happened:
Me and my mother went to the Hilal restaurant to order some food we got the chef special from their “business” and paid a total of £65.50 the chef special itself was around £55 ish however we had gotten some other miscellaneous items along with the platter. We got the food and i doubled confirmed with them if all the items are inside including extra bread meat and etc. so now that we got the food we went back home with all the stuff we bought and started to eat it. STRAIGHT OFF THE BAT the meat was uncooked, blood dripping from the bones, rice tasted weird, naan bread was hard as a rock and other things were missing on the order which we did not pay attention to since the actual platter itself was horribly made. So now that the platter was “uncooked” we called them to confront them since we paid for every single item in the order and now a problem has occurred they DON’T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH. Yes you’re reading that right, a business in the UK that does not even understand their own public customers cannot speak ENGLISH.
So we confronted them my mother went to the restaurant i had to leave for work and she my sister tried to talk to them however none of them were negotiable, they all started disrespecting my mother in their language calling her all sorts of names, throwing some stupid sign at them using their hands, saying she’s talking nonsense when all she’s trying to do is to get a refund of the amount of another one made. Is that so hard ? Well apparently for these guys it is, NO MANAGER, EMPLOYEES CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH, ENTIRE STAFF CAN’T EVEN TALK OR COMMUNICATE PROPERLY, however all they can do is just back bite about my mother since i had to leave for work if i was there with my mother and saw all of this disgusting, disrespectful and horrible service i would have gotten really mad at them because you’re a business at the end of the day YOU ARE providing a service to your customers if you can’t talk english then why don’t you simply just leave the country and start your business at your own country or just hire employees and staff that can speak proper ENGLISH. Ladies and gentlemen please AVOID this place go to another Turkish Restaurant these guys are a NO GO they will wasted your time and money so just be aware.
To top it off they did not give my mother the entire money they gave £55 instead of £65.50 so a total of £10 was missing which i don’t really care. The more disappointing part of this is the professionalism i will attach proof below.
£5 was given through cash btw the remaining...
Read moreHorrible experience. Went to raise a complaint alongside mum, as the chef lied, promising “everything” would be included when we requested lambchops in our food, then rudely rushed us and cut us off. When we got home, we realised it wasn’t what we ordered and the food was raw, oily. Instead of owning up, they turned on us — two customers — in a group of workers who instantly became aggressive twisting words and defensive.
The doner was drenched in oil, overly salty and tasted old. The ribs were undercooked — we cut into one to check and realised it wasn’t safe to eat, lambchops missing and one kebab. When we brought it back, the woman worker immediately got defensive, spoke to us with attitude and called over everyone nearby to look, saying, “You ate all the food and then you brought it in!” which was completely false. We literally cut one rib to check and found it raw.
They spoke in Turkish in front of us, making nasty remarks. Every man there — clearly workers, not real customers — got involved, rude and aggressive. One even told my mum to shut up because there was customers eating. It felt like 2 against a gang. Rather than trying to come to a resolution they picked fights, was being defensive and hostile. My mum had to try and translate to 6 different people when the whole time they were speaking amongst each other. The whole road of joint Turkish shops seemed to be involved— words spread fast and suddenly groups of men spectating, huddled in corners shouting remarks in Turkish at us once we left. We paid by card, but were thrown cash back — and only realised at home they gave us £15 short.
As we sat in the car the apparent “owner” was walking back to his place. My mum said “you should make your customers happy” and he responded sarcastically “Are you happy?- Are you happy?”- giving the clear impression he thought we came to complain for money. Once we were about to drive off, the man turned around, made an innapropriate insulting gesture at us- a clear swear in his language.
Overall, not the place to go if your not Turkish and with family as you’ll be met with bullying, hostility and just for having basic customer rights.
I hope you make a smart decision and think twice before you support a place who treats their...
Read moreMerhaba, I had an amazing dining experience at hilal restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting and warm, the staff were attentive and friendly, always ensuring we were taken care of.
The food was outstanding! We ordered the mix grill and can say hands down it was the best Turkish mixed grill I have tasted and I have been to a fair few Turkish restaurants as it is my favourite cuisine, the main course really exceeded all expectations. The staff were very understanding that it was Ramadan we had arrived slightly late due to traffic, they gave complementary soup/ dates and water to start our meal, to break our fast, which was incredibly thoughtful. They also gave us complementary tea and a slice of baklava to finish our meal! Looking at the place you wouldn’t expect the highly quality, tasty food however, it's a place you can count on for an exceptional experience. I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu! Highly recommend! I will be going back soon!!! harika zaman ve güzel yemek için...
