I had gone to use the Tesla Supercharger at Brent Cross. There are only two chargers there and when I arrived both were occupied and another Tesla user was there waiting. Waited for about 20 minutes and none of the two users appeared. With no sign of a charger beginning free, someone ahead of me in the queue and with my battery at 12% I realised I was in quite a jam. Decided I had to risk looking for somewhere else to charge the car or be stuck where I was for hours. The Gateway Services came up as nearest option 9 minutes away. I said a prayer and set off, knowing that if there was no working charger there, I did not have enough battery to get me back.

The place is off the motorway so I had a fun drive there at full speed with a clear road in front of me. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. There were tons of Tesla Superchargers. At least 10 and probably more like 15. About three were in use but that meant there were tons free. The first one I used turned out to be faulty which left me worried but I just moved to the next bay and that was working fine.

There were also tons of other electric car chargers for non-Tesla owners. I don't think it is possible to ever be lacking somewhere to charge here. There is also a petrol station for those that have not yet embraced the future😛.

With some time to kill while the car was charging, I decided to step into the service centre, attracted by the Burger King sign. My burger meal was so awesome I really wanted to buy another burger. But I decided that £20 on food while waiting to charge a car was a bit much.

For coffee lovers there is a Starbucks there. There is also a small Waitrose supermarket plus a few games to play. The only thing they need to add here is KFC. There is also a hotel if you are on a long journey and need to lodge to break...

Subject: Complaint: Incorrect Drink and Poor Customer Service at Starbucks 0765 Welcome Break M1 London

Dear Starbucks Customer Service,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your Starbucks store located at Welcome Break M1 London (Store Number 0765).

On my visit on 1st June 2025, I ordered an iced latte, as I regularly do at various Starbucks locations. However, the drink I received was simply a regular latte filled with ice and water, not the standard iced latte I am accustomed to. I politely returned to the counter and explained this to the barista. They remade the drink, but unfortunately, it was the same as before.

Despite my efforts to calmly explain that this was not how iced lattes are typically made at Starbucks, a staff member named Hina, who had not made the drink but was present at the counter, responded with rudeness and dismissiveness. She insisted that they are well-trained and that the drink was correct, ignoring my polite explanation as a regular customer who frequents various Starbucks stores.

I am disappointed by both the quality of the product and the lack of professional and courteous customer service during this visit. I would appreciate it if this incident could be looked into and addressed appropriately. Furthermore, I would like to know what steps Starbucks will take to ensure that customers consistently receive correct drinks and respectful service at this location.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Date of Visit:...

I had to make a quick emergency pit stop at this service area. I needed a decent bunch of flowers in a hurry as well as petrol. But no flowers in the petrol station, and because of the side my petrol tank was on, the two pumps I pulled up to were not in service. A right royal nuisance, but fine. I then felt like I was on a dangerous safari type mission from I left the kindly petrol station assistant who pointed me over to Waitrose to get my flowers. I don't know if it's always like this or what, but there were no clear on-road markings or clear sign posts as to how to safely navigate the distance from the petrol station to the small indoor Shopping Mall. I almost found myself back on the motorway at one point, which would have spelt disaster for me because I needed those flowers! I felt like, if it was a busy period of the day, I could easily have caused a major accident because I was hesitant and unsure as I gingerly tried to navigate my way over to the Mall (sometimes even driving in the wrong direction, and almost landed in the coach park). I did get a lovely bunch of flowers in the end, but wasted so much time that I was...

As a hgv driver, my experience at this service area was disappointing. A lot of pot holes into the tarmac into the parking area, not too many spaces were to park. Some trailers are left unattended with tyres on it so few less spaces for us were to park. The train line is very close to the services so all night I had noises from passing trains, luckily for me no trailer fridge near me that night 😅. The showers are in poor condition, not clean, no privacy, mold and disgusting. The shower door has a built in hole so anyone who passes the toilet can take a look if the shower is free or occupied or they can take photos as the door is not covering the entire area like it is supposed to do. At the sink tap there is not cold water and there are no other sinks designed with cold water so I was forced to brush my teeth with hot water. Moto vs Welcome Break (1-0) as Moto invested a lot of money into their services last year. Next time I will try to find a different service area.

See this place as a needs must. Toilets are relatively clean, however they hold the kinda toilet paper that likes to smear stuff around a bit instead of actually doing its job. Showers are OK - albeit tiny with no hooks for hanging your towel / clothes etc. Showers are a press of a button that gives you water for 10 seconds or so. Gotta keep pressing it if you're a bit of a unit. There's a BK or Subway to choose from if you're after a bit of hot snap. WHSmith making its presence known, along with a waitrose and a Costa. Safe enough I suppose.
