Very small, very beautiful, quiet beach, with rockpooling. Dogs are allowed on this beach all year round. There is a small cafe on the beach, halfway up. No toilets or place to park the car though, and VERY steep access in surrounding areas. If you are walking, make sure you are fit! No pavement on the tiny lanes near the beach so take care with children. We stopped in "Beachside" (holiday property) which backs onto the beach, with decking going up to the house. Read moreOn walking from Looe to Plaidy beach by the coastal path, in one area below some residences, there was a lot of what looked like freshly cut garden waste .I hoped it was surrounding bushes etc that had been cut back by the authorities for the public's easier access. However, unfortunately , there did not seem to be evidence of this.....It would be a great shame to think that Plaidy residents had decided not to get rid of their garden waste by the correct method,and had instead taken the anti social action of merely dumping it at the nearest point...
Read morePlaidy Beach is great when everywhere else is packed. Plaidy is much more quiet during the peak season due to lack of parking nearby, no shops, cafes, so no cold drinks or ice creams or shops for beach goods. The beach has great views over Looe bay and Looe Island. Seaton can be seen to the left. Sand and Pebble beach with many rock pools during low tide. Great area for paddle boarding , kayaking and swimming. Very safe waters. Probably a good 15 minutes walk from Looe or Millendreath beach. 5 Stars from me as I prefer beaches...
