The area is okay, though nothing to write home about. What ruined the experience for me was the unfair and predatory parking system.

We overstayed by a few minutes and their unforgiving automatic camera system produced a £100 parking fine sent to my door a few days later!

I contacted the forest centre to explain that our family live nearby and are regular visitors, and asked if they would be willing to contact the parking provider (who operates on their behalf) to waive the fine, given the circumstances.

They were utterly dismissive toward me, and when I replied asking them to reconsider they didn't even bother replying.

Honestly this kind of attitude from any organisation is enough to make me never go there again, and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. There is plenty of lovely countryside all around which you can enjoy without having to risk falling prey to a greedy, money-grabbing scheme such...

This is a lovely place that my wife and i have enjoyed visiting but today we have been stung with a car parking fine when we know that we paid the due fee. I am told that they system does not make mistake but on this occasion i am totally confident that it has. The shame is that i paid with coin and not card so i have no evidence. As a minimum ensure that you pay with card here and i would also strongly suggest that you keep any tickets you may have as proof. Very disappointing as out of principle we will not be...

Oh my goodness 🙊 we was not expecting so much fun with our Princess Tea Party today at the Forest Centre. The children had such a cute afternoon tea which was laid out and prepared so beautifully, they then got to meet Elsa and Anna who sang, danced, told the Frozen story, gave each child a glitter tattoo and played pass the parcel! For such a low price considering how much must have gone into making this event so special for the children. Absolutely...

Lovely place for a walk with plenty of space to explore. There’s a brilliant new sensory garden and a fantastic playground for kids, plus a nice café with a little drawing corner to keep them entertained. Toilets are on site, and you can even go and see the big wind turbine. They sometimes host family events like egg hunts, and there’s bike hire too. A really great spot for families.

Nice place to walk or cycle, or just visit the cafe. Have some activities organised, need to check website. Cycle hire available. I took my bike on the train from Bedford. Quite easy to navigate the tracks no real hills. About 4km around the site, although you can do a longer ride around Stewartby lake.
