Marston Beans Ltd — Restaurant in England

It turned out to be the most expensive cup of coffee that I've ever bought! The parking restrictions are not obvious despite what ce-service say. I was not prompted to enter my registration number into their device by the member of staff who was working that day (in fairness it was busy). I informed ce-service that I had a receipt for my legitimate transaction of purchasing a coffee and could they wave the fine this time? They sent back a standard email saying that it was not the duty of the members of staff to point out the restrictions and the matter was closed and I must pay the fine (£100) or go to court. I think that this is a blatant money making scheme on their part because I have had this situation before with Starbucks and as soon as I produced a receipt they waved the fine! This café is a real gem with indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a relaxing place to sit, chat and relax whilst spoiling yourself with a treat. There is home made food - full sandwiches, savouries and cakes - as well as a good range of crisps and chocolate snacks and fairly priced hot and cold drinks. I particularly liked that bottles of water are placed on all the tables: healthy and environmentally beneficial as well as saving money, always a good thing. The indoor space has a book corner and attractive local art work on the walls which adds to the really homely feel. Reasonable food & drinks although especially the small cakes and sandwiches are very expensive. The larger cakes are popular and often sell out by noon. They need to increase the stock of their most popular items. Unfortunately they really lack a good selection of savoury food, especially hot choices. In the past my partner and I had their vegetable sausage rolls, they appeared half cooked and we had upset stomachs afterwards. I really hope they increase their selection soon.
